ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Description of the issue:
i logged in to do a flight and noticed that the weather at my local airport KAZO didn’t anything like what it looks like outside. it is a fairly light but solid overcast sky.
here is the currently reported metar indicating an overcast at 10,000 feet:
METAR KAZO 131353Z VRB06KT 10SM OVC100 09/M01 A3004 RMK AO2 SLP176 T00891006
when i tune the in game ATIS it tells me the sky is broken clouds at 13,000.
the actual depiction in the sim looks like CAVOK with a few clouds in the distance.
on the freeflight map the clouds look wrong too, they show mostly clear skies over the entire state, it looks very different than the current meteoblue cloud coverage map. on meteo blue, lake erie and ontario show a lighter cloud cover while most of michigan is overcast. in the world map there’s no clouds over michigan while erie and ontario are covered.
could this be some kind of sync issue where i am seeing weather from a different time or day than the actual current weather?
EDIT: a mod merged my post over to this thread, just to be clear i’m experiencing this with 2024 and the current su2 beta version, not with 2020. maybe it is related to 2020 problems, i don’t know.
EDIT2: i just checked again about 3 hours later and it’s stll occuring. the METAR is OVC095 (and that’s what it looks like out my window) but the KAZO ATIS is reporting scattered 13,000. in this case the depiction is actually looking like scattered 13,600 so it’s not that the clouds are missing but that the in-game weather is mismatched from published metar.

no. i do not have any weather related mods.

this is the first time i’ve seen the depiction be this much different than outside.
