I broke down and bought Active Sky. The book is still out on it. I need some sorta accurate weather though. I always thought the live weather in MSFS was pretty good for the most part except for how they depicted clouds. Now it doesn’t even put any clouds in half the time. If it comes back online properly maybe I’ll come back to it if I don’t like AS.
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yes, locations are not depicting the correct weather
Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• Four different locations KIND, KPIT,KOKC,KBOS 2025-04-25 1354Z Metar and 1410-1415Z when photos taken in MSFS
If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Hi all,
I can also confirm that I am seeing the same as the reports above in MSFS 2024. We’ve only had a limited number of reports on this, but as I’m also able to reproduce I’ll make sure this gets escalated to the development team. It seems as if winds and altimeter setting is correct for all of these during my quick tests now, however the cloud and precipitation depiction isn’t.
Thanks
The MSFS Team
So after having problems with MSFS weather in 2020 i decided to pulled the trigger on ASFS and pair it with Rex Atmos and this is what we get in result.. way better and correct weather
I have also had this issue going on two weeks now- it took me a while to realize because there are some clouds (usually just a thin high alt layer) but cloud and precip injection via Live weather is entirely non-existent. I have just compared this with a friend, and he is also experiencing the same thing.
As an example we spawned into an airport with active thunderstorms, however via live weather it is simply blue skies with a high alt thin layer, almost identical to what @Chewwy94 ‘s screenshots show.
Zendesk’s response when I submitted this this morning was generic and didn’t seem to acknowledge the problem.
This is for 2024 btw, SU1.
I’ve been thunderstorm chasing a few days ago near Houston as there were heavy thunderstorms passing over. Got the exact same results as others on 1.4.14.0 SU2 beta.
Here is something a bit different though with live weather. maybe It’ll add some value to the issue.
Today I’ve flown into Schiphol where it was really really cloudy for some reason, even though it is a clear sunny day today (left a livestream and right in the sim):
only after exiting out of the flight, moving to a different part of the world and then going back to the Netherlands on the world map, the weather suddenly changed which resulted in live weather being accurate after spawning in again just a few minutes later (mind you both pictures live weather is ticked on):
There are also weather depiction issues with FS2024. Yet there is complete radio silence from Asobo/MS. What’s going on here? Is it a MeteoBlue issue? Is it Microsoft/Asobo trying their luck at the next SU5? We’d like to know what’s happening here, because this shouldn’t be happening.
Without ActiveSky I’d be furious, thank goodness we’ve got Damian!
Aside from weather depiction looking awful, now its not even realistic anymore. Explanation, please?
I’ve noticed the same issue where the METAR would should full rain but it was sunny inside the sim.
Same here, Navigraph shows thunderstorm, MSFS 2020 shows lightly clouded skies. Funny how this is, my system worked ok until the latest update. Too bad we can’t step backwards, I definitely would.
the weather system seems anyways buggy in the last few days. i had it multiple times that it was raining but you could not see any rain while airborne you could just hear it. there were no droplets on the windshield and also not in the external view. just on the ground you suddenly could see rain drops falling down and hitting the ground…
And again I’ve never seen any lightning in this sim just like in msfs2020 where lightnings disappeared everywhere for months
It seems to me that MSFS2020 weather interpretation is always 9/10 very optimistically oriented. Especially with clouds and precipitation. Some days I went flying on purpose over some very dark spots on the map with really bad weather, and suddenly I do only see some slight nice weather clouds with THUNDER every ~5-10seconds.
In my area where I live often I do wonder how it is possible that the entire sky is covered and heavy raining, and on FS2020 on screen I do see some sparse clouds, basically nice weather.
The strange thing which I do see: Wind direction as strenght is 8/10 roughly correct.
I am a daily player (6.5/7days), and this observation is valid since I ever played this FS2020/game.
Mostly just getting wind and visibility injected. No clouds or precipitation. This happened a couple weeks ago. Currently flying in the NYC area.
Still completely wrong - Meteoblue’s own sattelite radar vs. what we’re getting in sim. Not even close.
Same here, anywhere i try to chase some clouds they arent there
