I had maybe 20 minutes of good cloud injections (over West Virginia) then with a snap of a finger they disappeared completely. If I roll the 24-hr slider back, they’re still where they were in that time frame.
It’s still totally busted though.

if u always did flightsim since FSX or P3D we always has to get a 3rd party software for weather cause it was not acurate. so we been having this problem with MSFS and they still dont have a answer for what or why this is happening and i dont think they will come here and give us a proper answer… i invested on ASFS and it works with no problem… and u dont have to think if its going to work or no… who know if this whole time the weather we been getting its acurate cause now it got us fooled but that up to yall to decided if 30.00 worth getting or just go with the hit or miss on MSFS weather..
Not sure if the problem is getting worse, but FS2020 is suddenly not allowing me to select “Live Weather” at all. When I click the “on-off” sliding toggle to “on”, it jumps back to “off”. If I used the drop-down to change “clear skies” to “live weather” it immediately goes back to “clear skies”. If I change the drop-down from “clear skies” to “high level clouds” it stays on “high level clouds”. But as soon as I try selecting “live weather” from the drop-down, it changes back to the following “clear skies” selection instead.
MSFS 2020 is having server issues right now. They’re working on fixing it.
Thanks for the update, that might also explain the total lack of 3d trees in the same recording, in spite of my trees and vegetation being set to “high” so I’ll wait and see what happens once the server issues have been remediated.
Is there any official info/confirmation about this? Live weather does not work for me at least since ~10AM GMT
Hi @DaffyStraw55307,
Updates were posted to both our MSFS Support X account, as well as here on the forums: Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) Online Services Issue - April 28th 2025 - Official Microsoft Flight Simulator / News & Announcements - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums
The issues this morning with Online Services for MSFS 2020 have been resolved.
Thanks
The MSFS Team
For me live weather is disconnecting again
I just checked it again, live weather is not working for me.
West Europe server, in the game I am at Cagliari (LIEE) airport. Metar is: Visibility 9000m. light rain. Clouds few 1500ft, scattered 4500ft, broken 6000ft. Temperature 17°C, dew point 14°C. QNH 1020hPa.
In the game there are NO clouds at all, no rain. Only some weird haze. The sky is completely clear.
The issues you are experiencing are not linked to the outage mentioned in my last comment.
We have logged the reports about Live Weather not appearing correctly for the Development Team to investigate!
Thanks
The MSFS Team
Ok, not sure if it helped, but after switching back and forth between servers a few times, the weather got injected and looks ok at this moment.
Big storm system / rain in the upper Great Lakes right now and it’s no where to be seen in the sim- just the same high level cloud layer that looks awful.
Are you on the newest beta that just dropped? 1.4.16.0 has some mention of live weather fixes in the notes that could or could not mean this is fixed.
@Chewwy94 can you confirm if this was fixed with this latest beta? (I’m still on stable/SU1)
Edit: Joined the beta real quick- same exact lack of cloud/precip injection. No change from stable.
Hello
Just to advise I have no live weather on MSFS202 since this outage.
I have tried the usual - DATA/OFF/ON etc but not working
Regards
Simon Ward
I can confirm that this issue is still being investigated, and a fix was not provided in the SU2 Beta 1.4.16.0 update.
Thanks
The MSFS Team
Sorry to confuse you but I am on MS2020,
Regards
Simon
Hi @SoleCobra990537,
We are not receiving any indications of an entire Live Weather outage after yesterdays issues in MSFS 2020 were resolved. If you are still able to get wind and altimeter data but no clouds or precipitation, this is due to the issue in this specific thread, which as of today has now been bug-logged after a successful reproduction by our testing team.
Thanks
The MSFS team
I am also currently experiencing this issue as the clouds are not loading on live weather neither does the winds or air pressure change. I am wondering if this is part of the sever issues. This issue has only started after the sever issues that happened yesterday. I am on MSFS2020. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Thank you,
Tyler
