Hello, I also have the same 'Specs" as you, except I only have 16GB ram so far. I purchased mine on Jan 1, 2021. So I am happy to hear you are happy with the Laptop. I am an old timer and really a newbie when it comes to anything related to “gamming.” I just don’t like games, however MSFS 2020 got me excited enough to try it.
I can say that please look at another rig. Integrated graphics won’t cut it. I am running a RTX2060 and all can say it is sometimes struggling on a heavy scenery cities.
Acer Nitro i5 -10300H @2.50 Ghz
8GB ram 512 SSD
Nvidia Geforce RTX 2060 6GB ram
in normal mode plays well, It will do VR (Oculus quest 2 with link cable)and I find it acceptable with Buildings and clouds on medium.
Does run hot -temps 67C to 87 C
Laptop user here. RTX 2060 mobile and i7-9750h with 32GB ram. High/Ultra results in about 20s in dense areas, 30+ elsewhere. I have the laptop hooked up to a 1440p 144hz 27inch monitor and a laptop cooling pad to manage temps. Never go above 75-77C when gaming. I also use Logitech Extreme 3D pro.
Running 1080p on High settings + some Ultra very well on my HP Omen 15 2020 laptop with the i7-10750h, RTX 2060 mobile, and 16 gb ram. HP really did a fantastic job with the cooling on this one, never get thermal throttling. Usually ~20-25 fps in dense areas, 30-40 fps otherwise especially with GA aircraft.
Which screen size or monitor you guys run? My options are either the onboard 15” screen or a 55” TV so I’m considering something in between. The 55” is awesome for immersion but the laptop barely can run 1440p so 4k is out of question for now.
Thing is, the pixel density is no good specially sitting 2 foot away. The 15” on the other side is too small, cant read nothing on the gauges without a mega zoom.
Also I can run 1440p but it’s a stretch… 35 max fps over ocean and around 25fps in LA or NY, so 1080p is a much better option regarding smoothness.
Anyone try the sim on a Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 6 laptop? Thinking of making that my “stopgap” until Hybrid Computing and DDR5 matures over the next 2 years. Plus it’s “just” small and light enough to actually travel with.
