It’s difficult to suggest what was wrong as “Sometimes works sometimes not” could mean a dozen things.
For the Logitech gear I can make assumptions based on my own experiences, and when set up correctly they are near flawless.
For the GoFlight MCP-Pro I have literally no idea. I don’t know how that even interfaces with MSFS.

This thread seems to indicate you use their own drivers, and use FSX as the simulator preset. Further down it mentions SPAD, and some users report that newer hardware seems to work for most GF models.
