Found a workaround that doesn’t require any 3rd party software. Perhaps it’ll help you too?
- In the sim go to Settings, Controls, and select Tobii. Click the cog by “General controls” and choose Duplicate. Create a new profile with the name of your choice.
- Quit the sim and open file explorer, navigate to (MS Store version, Steam path anyone?):
C:\Users_profilename_\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData\wgs - If you sort by date/time the most recent folder should correspond to the time you created the duplicate Tobii profile. Go into that folder.
- Copy the file with the long alphanumeric name elsewhere to make a backup then open it in Notepad or similar.
- You should be looking at an XML file. The name of your profile should be in there right near the top (if not, close and hunt through the other directories). Just below you’ll see entries for “Axis” with "AxisName"s running from 0 - 6.
- You’ll see numeric values assigned to each “AxisSensitivy”. These are what we care about. I like little-to-no eye tracking and quite sensitive headtracking - start with these suggested values, then play around as you like - I honestly can’t tell you about each individual value.
- Set them as follows, then save & close the file:
- Don’t forget to reenable Tobii Experience if you need to, then start the sim.
- Also don’t forget to map keys for reset & toggling disable head tracking.
- Breathe a heavy sigh of relief
- though if you’ve previously installed OpenTrack (I had not), sounds like you may need to work out how to uninstall that cleanly first?
