FS2024 CTD when adjusting Tobii Eye Tracker curves

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

This is really frustrating. Asobo completely FORGOT to provide sensitivity settings for TOBII. The Hardware adjustments are for a joystick!
If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Just to add, I tried the open track workaround, as mentioned on the Tobi website, however its no good because it inadvertently stops G-Sync from functioning, creating a very choppy experience!

Known Issue: Tobii Eye Tracker 5 not working as expected in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 – Tobii Help Center

OPEN TRACK will render 2020 unusable for TOBII, if you try this work around as TOBII and TRACKIR will conflict!

• Yes, but also: I need to deactive the eyetracker 3 times before it actually disables during flight. (I usually only use it around the ground, but its hard turning it off in flight.)

Incredibly frustrating and comical! I depend on TOBII and it had better work like it did in 2020 where we can adjust the “sensitivities!” I HATE eye tracking but for head tracking this is invaluable! Hope this is an early fix and disappointed to read this was noted in the Alpha/Beta.

FYI: After the just released update 1.1.9.0, the sim still crashes CTD when attempting to modify the Tobii settings.

Doesn’t mention that it was fixed, so I’d expect it to keep crashing. Shame really. I’d have thought this would be up there to fix, considering it’s plastered all over tobis website advertising 2024…!

@SeedyL3205 is anyone looking into this ?

Its a Bug after this report it has been logged by the team as indicated by the flair up in this thread.
Dont know if todays hotfix dealt with it or not.

Edit: no the hotfix did not fix this specific issue, the problem persists.

i have the same problem with crash when i want adjusting tobii curves. solution not work.
thanks

Found a workaround that doesn’t require any 3rd party software. Perhaps it’ll help you too?

  1. In the sim go to Settings, Controls, and select Tobii. Click the cog by “General controls” and choose Duplicate. Create a new profile with the name of your choice.
  2. Quit the sim and open file explorer, navigate to (MS Store version, Steam path anyone?):
    C:\Users_profilename_\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData\wgs
  3. If you sort by date/time the most recent folder should correspond to the time you created the duplicate Tobii profile. Go into that folder.
  4. Copy the file with the long alphanumeric name elsewhere to make a backup then open it in Notepad or similar.
  5. You should be looking at an XML file. The name of your profile should be in there right near the top (if not, close and hunt through the other directories). Just below you’ll see entries for “Axis” with "AxisName"s running from 0 - 6.
  6. You’ll see numeric values assigned to each “AxisSensitivy”. These are what we care about. I like little-to-no eye tracking and quite sensitive headtracking - start with these suggested values, then play around as you like - I honestly can’t tell you about each individual value.
  7. Set them as follows, then save & close the file:

  8. Don’t forget to reenable Tobii Experience if you need to, then start the sim.
  9. Also don’t forget to map keys for reset & toggling disable head tracking.
  10. Breathe a heavy sigh of relief :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:- though if you’ve previously installed OpenTrack (I had not), sounds like you may need to work out how to uninstall that cleanly first?

Oh, can’t post any XML. No biggie. Look for the “AxisSensitivy” parameter. Clear out its numeric values for each of the 0 - 6 entries. You made a backup, right? Then going from 0 - 6 replace the values with the following:
85
10
80
19
80
80
0

This works perfectly! Thanks!

Anyone know the Steam path of this at all?

Edit - It’s in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata<id>\2537590\remote

Thanks so much for your hard work on this! Does that have any impact on the lack of head tracking? I always switch the eye tracking off anyway, so if it only affects the already-working eye tracking functionality I might leave it.
