When you say you get no flight data, are you running Win10 or Win11 ?

Please tell us what you are describing as Flight data.

I can see the .flt file that I created.
Sitting in the Longitude, the FMS is blank.
There is no flight data.

we are talking at cross purposes here.

The thread was originally about not being able to save a long flight part way through and then be able to resume it at a later point. People were saying *.flt files could not be saved at all. I never said a flight could be resumed with every single detail restored such a FMS contents.
Maybe the lack of those extra details are the reason MS/Asobo hid the saving of *.flt file.

save to PC in the EFB and then type cardif1.flt in the Windows file dialogue and it saves it as expected to “cardiff1.flt” and is 20k or so and contains flight data.

That is what you said.
Just trying to understand what point you were making.

Didn’t understand that the point was only that a .flt file could be saved
although it has no flight data in it and serves no purpose.

How to use FlightSave24 and start your flight based on a SimBrief flightplan.

Start at any saved flight markers with the original flightplan loaded in.

For the folks above, I’m using Win 11. When saving the file, you are NOT given the choice to save the file in a different format. As you name your file, the one and only format available .pln pops up on a rectangular box below the file name and forces you to use that format. I’m still in shock that they think saving is not warranted. I like to fly a small plane, land where I can and wished I could resume with a cold and dark plane as I left it without having to reload the entire process AND not have to take off from an airport.

When you save the file, put quotes around it. like…“KJFK.flt” this will save it as a .FLT file.

Then when you want to open/load it, type * . * and press enter to show all the files in the folder. The .FLT files will appear.

EDIT: You need to comment out/remove the following line in the file FirstFlightState=PREFLIGHT_GATE (it may say something other than preflight gate)

Per @JetsSC above wish, I took off from KJFK and flew to KLGA.
Landed .

Then tried to figure out how to save a .flt file from here.
Nothing is available but the Web Flight Planner.
I saved a “.flt” file with quotes.

Back at the Free Flight screen, I used the EFB to load in that .flt file.
Not “Load from PC” but the top " Load Flight Plan" button on the EFB.

It loads but there is nothing there.
Present airport of KLGA is not saved.

There is no flight to start flying.

As to your save as a “xxx.flt” save, FS2024 treats it as a .pln file.

I don’t think this works for flying a Flight Plan and being able to
continue the Flight Plan after you land and then want to continue
flying it.
