You’re correct - the 2024-native version is a new, separate product. The 2024 compatible version is the same 2020 version that’s been out for a while, which has been patched for 2024 compatibility. So if you already own the A300-600, you don’t have to pay anything to get 2024 compatibility - it’s a free update to the product you have. You only need to pay if you want the “premium” version that is fully 2024-native.
Edit - and if you are purchasing it now, you would want to go for the “old” 2020/2024 version if you intend to keep using 2020 and want to have the plane in that version - the 2024 one obviously won’t work in 2020…
Added the LivToAir Zivko Edge540 V2. Added a note that this is a new addon, not an update. Existing owners are entitled to a free upgrade, but you must “purchase” the new version. SimMarket link (not sure if it’s on other vendors): simMarket: ZIVKO EDGE540 V2 MSFS24
Added the KwikFlight Bone which is compatible per iniBuilds
Added the VirtualCol 99 Commuter, Embraer E170-175 and E190-195 Series which are compatible per iniBuilds
Added the NextGen Simulations EMB-110 Bandeirante as it’s listed as compatible in most places now (including iniBuilds)
OK, I have the BRsimdesign Ercoupe 415-C. It did not autoport over to 2024, I have isolated the 2020 folder that contains it, but am unable to add it to the list of 2024 planes streamed ‘In the Cloud’. My 75yr old geezer brain is overloaded -lol Please advise - in simple steps please - how to bring this lovely little aircraft file into MSFS 2024 use. Thanks
It’s only the built in planes that are streamed. 2024 also has a community folder so it’s just a case of copying a 2020 addon from one community folder to the other or if you want to get fancy using links from a central location to each community folder. There is no guarantee the aircraft will work but this is how you would go about testing one. The ones I’ve so far tested have ranged from will not even load, loads but has issues that make it un-flyable and one’s that work almost the same as they do in 2020.
How? I don’t see any options to do that. If I uninistall the plane and then try to download it again, it simply downloads it without giving me any choice as to location. I am confused.
I have a few flights in the FFX Cirrus G2 VisionJet, which I find superior to the default VJ in 24. Everything I tried works, including the SimBrief integration! It is now my best GA in 24!
It sounds like you own the Ercoupe from the Marketplace - is that correct? If so - you probably can’t use it yet. 3rd party 2020 marketplace planes haven’t all been moved to 2024 by Microsoft… yet.
In the new Marketplace tab (the one that’s just “coming soon”), there’s a “My Library” option at the top. That will show you all the add-ons currently available to you in 2024 (including anything in your 2024 Community folder). If the Ercoupe shows up there, you should be able to activate it. If it’s not there, you’ll unfortunately have to wait until Microsoft makes it available. When? Who knows? (I’m in that boat with the Transall.)
** I don’t think you can just move folders from the 2020 Official/OneStore folder into 2024. I’ve tried, and it didn’t work. (And in any event, it sounds like you want a cloud-streamed version, which that wouldn’t provide.)
If you bought it outside the marketplace, move the folder into the new 2024 Community folder. Then check the “My Library” tab - Community folder items aren’t always being activated when you first put them in. You may have to activate it from My Library and then restart the sim.
I want to highlight this FSElite link @udidwht shared. I think it’s a really great resource and seems to be up to date. I want to ask folks who visit this thread: With resources such as FSElite’s list available, is this thread still valuable to you? I’m happy to keep it going, at least until the floodgates (hopefully!) open and it becomes too much to manage.
Let me know if this thread still has value to you or if you’ve moved to another resource (or thread, as I know there’s another really good one) so I can decide how to best spend my time. Thanks all!
Also, just a head’s up for owners of the PES Maule, it just got an update on SimMarket that gives it a standalone FS2024 installer. Not sure if there are any other changes.
I have a weird issue with the SSW SF260 …all looks good in 2024 except the nose wheel does not retract!.
Cant see it mentioned elsewhere …is it just me?
To owners of the DA20 by SimSolutions: I was just chatting with their awesome dev Brady who let me know that though the DA20C is listed as officially compatible by iniBuilds, there is an issue with cold and dark startup not working. If you start on the runway and shut it down, you can start it back up, but cold and dark starts are currently broken. He has a fix coming out for both this and his newly released Alarus CH2000 in the coming weeks. Added a note about this in the table for the DA20.
I also went ahead and added the CH2000, as per my chat with Brady (I have not confirmed this myself!), it works in FS2024 other than the cold and dark start issue. If that’s a deal breaker, a patch is coming!
