FS2Crew just for getting checklists read

Hello All

I was looking around for a tool that would read me the checklists aloud so I can check if I’ve done everything.

I stumbled over FS2Crew and I reckon that it offers much more than just “checklists”. But I prefer doing the flying and pushing button stuff myself. But having a FO reading down the checklist items seems very immersive. Plus FS2Crew also offers some passenger and cabin crew ambient sounds right?

So - my question now is: can I use FS2Crew just to have my FO read me the checklists? Would it work a bit like me using voice and saying for example: after takeoff checklist please?

Is FS2Crew the right tool for me then?

Look for rsFirstOfficer. It might fit the bill.

If all you want is the automated checklists then FS2Crew is not for you. It’s too much of a hassle to setup and use just for the checklists and flows. Also, FS2Crew is aircraft specific. If you want to fly different aircraft you will need to buy it over and over again.

It does have cabin ambient sounds however and there is limited interaction with the ground crew and cabin crew.

I went with rsFirstOfficer - am testing it out right now. It seems to also have cabin ambient - but I have to test first :-1:

I went with FSFO but I’m having some issues. Remember - I just wanted it to read me the checklists - I am doing all the clicky click myself. Currently the program just says (for example): Preflight Checklist Complete. It never reads me any item.

Do you use FSFO? Any ideas? I tried their discord but did not get any useful help either…

Well, I’m trying the FS2Crew gen ai for the Fenix, my feedback so far:

  • Yes it increases immersion for sure.
  • No, it won’t help you much because you will spend at least as much time managing the application even with voice that you will be faster by yourself.

So for me the application is great for immersion, especially during the flight prep, but nothing that will help you much during your flight in general. I don’t regret my purchase per se but was expecting more. Maybe it will be more uselful when they release the B77 version ?
