I haven’t seen that at all so far. I think you’ll find most of these crashes and ofd goings on are on the sim’s side of things and it’s just really unfortunate timing that it coincided with the release of GSX.
However, anecdotally, I’ve done 4 flights now since I bought GSX.
Friday 19th (but before the CTD reports started)
PMDG 737 - No crash
Fenix A320 - CTD
Today
Fenix A320 - CTD
PMDG 737 - No crash
There is a pattern there for me, and as far as crashes go I haven’t had one since before Christmas (except for AIG when SU10 beta first released). HOWEVER - I did a Windows update on Friday before flying and on the main CTD thread there is a thought that might be the cause. Today I rolled that update back before the Fenix crash, then ran Windows update again which reinstalled Friday’s update and a further one today before my 737 flight. It’s very difficult to put my finger on where the problem lies as there are a number of variables.
With that said, I think this is a great product but it undoubtably requires some polish. I’d say it’s about 80% there, and it probably won’t take FSDT much to get it spot on.
It is compatible with small Jets to. But you have to make an aircraft profile. But there will always be 2 Pilots and 4 Crew members coming before the pax. So the boarding might seem odd.
Honestly, i feel like it’s a big disappointment.
100 clicks on the menu, hoping it’s getting on. App is cracky as hell and fails 3 times during startup.
Walkways are weird in some places, with floating passengers and also some other places have floating workers.
I think they better had waited for a couple of months getting rid of those bugs and making it stable instead of letting people pay 30 euro’s for this unfinished thing.
I see all those peoples having problem , Am I lucky that its just running smooth for me ? or that most problem are between the chair and the screen x) ?
I had trouble-free flight in the PMDG 737-700 using GSX at both ends of the flight. There are definitely some immersion-breaking things that happen in the sim, but in this case it’s because the terrible stock MSFS KBNA doesn’t have good gate/jetway placement, and stupid stuff like this can happen if you accidentally pick the wrong gate to park, lol.
FYI, this is ABSOLUTELY not a problem with GSX: this is a stock jetway thing with a lot of the non-handcrafted airports and the messed up jetway logic in the sim. Since there’s still no payware KBNA and I fly here a lot, I need to spend some time creating a personalized custom airport profile that will let me setup a few favorite, properly-configured gates and just use those for my regular flights.
I am currently trying to understand how to edit the pax waypoints and stuff with the GSX customization options.
Between being very clunky and unresponsive, and on top of that being buggy, it can be frustrating.
As far as I understand you can not adjust the pax walking through the jetway, you can only set up the path up until the start of the jetway`? Stuff is confusing.
glad I’m not the only one; this is awful customer service.
Also, how on earth do you even know if you’re on the latest version? the installer/updater doesn’t tell you what version # you’re on, several posts about people not getting updates that I think FSDreamteam has already pushed out.
Nope. From what I gather, their updater works a lot like Asobo’s does: it checks for updated files one by one, comparing hash values, then only actually downloads any that are newer. So they can push out additional livery files or fixes to path logic or whatever piecemeal as they fix them rather doing big monolithic updates to everything. So I just run it once a day and let it do its thing.
the need to keep clicking that icon on the toolbar is completely stupid
and yeah, i cant agree more. Developers nowadays think thats ok to launch an expensive add-on with tons of bugs. Like we pay to be “beta testers” of a “final product”
Also i registered on their forum and NEVER got accepted. They are keeping people away because they know what they did. Just lame.
not even awful, its non existent. Im sure they are not letting people join because they know they released an unfinished product. This thing couldnt even be a beta to tell the truth
Those are the only options on their site:
Contact FSDreamTeam
To obtain support about use of the product, technical issues, report bugs and suggestions, please use the forum
To ask about your order, or activation/reactivation issues, please use email
And they are not approving people to join, so NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.
FSDream Team is not seeing any money from me anymore
I have an old account on that forum, and if the questions / asks aren’t death threats etc then PM me here and I’ll post them on behalf of other people until they get an account - if that’s what it takes. I’ll prefix the question by saying that the customer is waiting for their account approval.
I know it can be frustrating to not get any support for something new that you paid for, so the the offer is there. If it’s anything technical not working then I’d guess they will immediately ask for a log file via this method - Couatl engine hasn't started - How to report a problem
PS I’m not implying in any way this is ok by them, this is more just to get people going with GSX. The guy there seems to reply pretty robotically night or day, so if it’s posted it might help. I have it working ok, and it is a pretty odd app but it could really do with a FAQ rather than the pretty dense manual.
They seem to be really struggling in how to configure their CloudFront CDN invalidations, which closer to English means they have a bust live updater that gives different people different versions depending on where they are. The fall back seems to be some manual installers that are always up-to-date and worth a try instead. Info here:
I did register too on their forum and never got approved. It is not working in VR. I dont get the toolbar in vr and fs2020 is super slow. Uninstalling returns everything back. To be honest i really don’t think they are capable. Shall refer to paypal for a refund
I requested a refund yesterday via the link in the purchase email, and it was approved within 10 minutes. Maybe worth trying. I will reconsider when it is in a better shape than it is now.
