FSDreamTeam GSX for MSFS

which installer app do you use?

FSDT live or the installer? still trying to fugure this out?

lastly, it only works with a handfull of airports.

it’s like captainsim all over again

I use the FSDT Installer if I need to get to the Config menu, otherwise just the FSDT Live Update thing. Note: If you hit update from in the Installer app, then double check that your Config / Exclude 3rd Parties list hasn’t been reset.

How do you mean, as in should works in all of them, it’s just the placement/profile stuff is often not good unless edited or a profile is downloaded. It should work in any 3rd party scenery not from the MS marketplace (because that’s encrypted and no API as yet) and then all the MSFS generated ones.

My biggest issue is that as I’m on SU10 beta the Numpad 1/3 keys don’t work, and I need those for rotation in the editor - which means I’m relying on profiles from 3rd flightsim.to or just doing stock ones for single gates and leaving things a bit wonky (F7/F8 does snap to rotate as the workaround for now).

Thanks this is very useful!

I need to figure out how the pushbag tug works aswell, after I place the path and hit “enter” it does nothing.

it was working fine when released in VR then they messed something up and ruined everything such as main top toolbar missing (invisible), return to menu (invisible) etc etc

I had a similar issue with the QuickEdit Pushback. I got it to work correctly by adding Waypoints to it. Page 41

Thank you!

Even uninstalling this program is a mess. It just leaves traces everywhere and doesn’t fully remove itself.

One final question if I may…

Even tho I have passenger density set at high someone airports only show 1 passenger walking off and others show loads!

Anyone know why this?

The density setting is really for only how clustered they are in line, so if you want them all to storm the aircraft and get it done quickly then you can set it to ‘Dense’ - it doesn’t change the number of passengers to load.

The two ways passenger numbers are set (that I’ve found so far) is either (a) through leaving the ‘Estimate PAX’ ticked, and then it will use the payload settings of the aircraft e.g. the FMC in the PMDG 737 payload values for passengers or (if estimate unticked) (b) the Simbrief passenger count.

Note: you must have a matching aircraft type and a departure time in the future for that airport with a generated Simbrief. That way it’ll use simbrief’s value. I think this is p.60 in the manual, on what simbrief does for loading/gate info.

Very helfpul thank you

The whole topic goes from manual page 5 to 8. If somebody can’t read that far than there is no way to help them.

Oh i have one, no idea on why i didnt see the paypal option.

All good, will keep it and see what they do with this. But still advice people to NOT BUY this for now.

Anyone going through a massive update on GSX?
Its been installing individual airport updates in GSX for over an hour now. (GSX World of Jetways) I am using the FSDT installer (has the config for GSX etc)

Also - anyone know how you know when to update?
Not tried today - but yesterday I could hit the update and it would just update …hit it again and it would do it again.
Given the size and time its taking to update today - I dont want to go through this again.
The app has no indication about updates due and I get no emails from FSDT and I am still waiting for access to the forums.

thanks

The bigger issue is Liveinstaller doesn’t work for most of us (at least according to their forums) - it downloads the same 2 files every single time I’ve tried. FSDreamTeam said it’s because all the files haven’t been pushed to the CDN servers, but it’s day 5 - not sure how long that should take. He then posted an offline installer, but I’m still trying that one.

@mhmaliniak - may I ask how you’re getting all these updates? Via LiveUpdater?

Without being unkind to the GSX team, I think the people that thought a toggle on a toolbar, a default of double jetways of 3rd party scenery and a 60 page getting started guide also made some odd design decisions on how the updater shows status.

The Live Updater shows ‘Downloading…’ in the status line when it’s just checking to see if local files have changed, not when they are, um, downloading. The ‘download’ bar shows that separately I think, so a lot of the time the Live Updater and the Installer show a status that’s not really true - it’s just basically doing a diff on the MD5 checksums it stores and not really changing anything.

I don’t think there is an easy way to see the single version number, which is pretty consistent when you think about it.

All the questions on the GSX forum being answered with ‘It’s Amazon’s fault, we told the CDN to update’ might just be a misunderstanding that they don’t see anything wrong with the Live Updater saying ‘Downloading’ but not actually Downloading.

Anyway, here’s the official explanation for why no version numbers on a product from the horses mouth: :horse:

Does anyone know how to do a turn around flight using the simbrief information generated.

On the first load up and first flight it sees the information that simbrief has generated (fuel option to refuel and passanger count for boarding) but on a turn around after passenger’s have deboarded i generate a new flight in simbrief but the new fuel and passenger count is not shown.
I know you could just reset GSX after every flight but that means loading two more pilots and more crew on board. After a while the plane would have more pilots and crew than passengers.

Any info on this is appreciated.

Any news on this? Got the same CTD… Everytime you call good engine start and the tug ist about to leave. Have you sorted this out?

Anyone have an issue if you somehow do the pushback incorrectly you can no longer open your GSX tab in the toolbar? Icon is highlighted but pop out wont appear?

It takes some work, but it’s really nice lots of profiles are now appearing, as I don’t really like editing stuff myself. Bob Hope KBUR airport:

well - it spent 3 hours updating - so i cancelled and uninstalled GSX - via the Installer. (not the live updaters)

I then reinstalled GSX

But this time I said it could keep the install files on my PC (takes up more space).

It then updated in a couple of minutes. So seems to work at the moment, but I agree with the other comments and in the FSDT forum (still waiting for access) - the installer is not great and I have no idea if there is an update unless I click update - and then it seems to install. I click again and it installs again…or maybe its checking? I do not know and that is what is frustrating, I dont know what its doing or if its working. I dont know if saying the install files could be kept on my pc fixed the issue - it made no difference two days ago.

And GSX worked “ok” a couple of time the menu would not pop up - I am not convinced at this point it was worth my money.

Also - anyone doing aircraft profiles? I would like to see Kodiak and the Milviz family having some proper aircraft profiles - I gave it a go - but its not intuitive. Then when i request boarding - a cargo loader and stairs arrive for my little plane. Tried turning them off…
