DC Designs confirmed they will be bringing Concorde to MSFS2020 - not sure if it’s going to be freeware. I’m hoping for a payware version.

Lets hope that FS labs dont bring the controversy they caused a few years ago to MSFS…

Care to elaborate?

They installed anti-piracy software on everyone’s computer (that installed their A320 product) and if it determined that you were pirating, it would install malware on your computer. They also didn’t tell anybody and at first denied it when people found out and confronted them. It was a huge drama.

Other companies tried to pull bs like this in the past. I believe in people getting compensated for their hard work but these archaic methods of anti-piracy I do not believe in nor endorse. I believe that two wrongs don’t make a right and also believe that most people are honest and will pay for things they use so potentially punishing/inconveniencing everyone for the select few that are dishonest is not the right approach.

I would be very glad, if FSLABS creates a Concorde and/or port their Airbus fleet for Flight Simulator but I am sceptic. They don’t even made it to create a sharklet Airbus version for P3DV5 within a year and this is agreed and officially announced by FSLABS. As far as I know, there is no announcement for Flight Simulator till today, so you should count on years for the realization…it hurts my soul but it is, as it is…
This is one if the reason, why I hangared my Airbus from FSLABS (also see the postings before - keyword “malware”).

Dang. Thanks for letting us know!

I’m pretty new to flight sims, so I’m not familiar with third party studios other than Aerosoft so far. Would be good to know which are worth to be supported and which aren’t.

And I’d absolutely refrain from buying a Concorde from them if they pulled this kind of malware ■■■■, even though I’d really dig one for my hangar.

That was honestly one of the worst moves I have ever seen from a company, I will NEVER ever buy anything from them after what they did.

The malware in question would pull all passwords from the users chrome settings and was deemed highly illegal breach of privacy etc

Believe you me, it pains me to say this too because Concorde is one of passions/obsessions but unless they clean up their act and not pull the same â– â– â– â–  I will not be buying it.

The malware thing was dreadful and they shouldn’t have done it. At the same time, it was a long time ago and they’ve since apologised & cleaned up their act. Their Airbuses in P3D are arguably the best and most highly detailed add-on aircraft ever released, and I’ve spent more time flying them than anything else.

Obviously it’s up to the individual to decide how much weight they place on this past mistake but, in my opinion, it would be a shame to miss out on their add-ons forever because of it. If and when FSL release either their A320 or their Concorde for MSFS, it’ll be a day 1 purchase for me.

what password from chrome settings? if you tell Chrome not to save passwords, that means it will not store any password for others to steal, right?

I do agree that in the end they apologized and tried to clean up their act but until they finally admitted it they strongly denied it and would delete all posts/ ban people that would confront them. I always felt like their apology was more of a corporate decision done to cover their butts and shut people up, etc, rather than an honest, heartfelt apology. Anyways, that’s just my opinion and at this point it has been beaten to death.

On your other point, yes, their Airbus products are second-to-none and when I was still on FSX and bought their Concorde it, too, was amazing at the time and came with a plethora of manuals, flight plans for all their routes and tutorials.

Oh yes, I agree. I don’t honestly believe there was any true remorse there. Put it this way, I wouldn’t want to go for a pint with any of them, much less play a round of poker, but I also wouldn’t want to be without their products! Call me a sell-out if you will…

Hi,
Yeah dc labs are almost done with their p3d Concorde which in their words won’t be study level and unfortunately its not gonna be free anything but the rough price quoted is around $40. Question will be is it worth $40 or whatever the £ equivalent will be not sure i can spend that much on a single plane especially 1 thats not gonna be exactly accurate in every way to the original. I know that several companies are bringing out a concorde for msfs
