FSReborn Phenom 300E RELEASED!

Seems logical. I know any system using bleed air gets cut off during startup. I’m not checked out in any jets so this is all new to me. That’s what makes flying the sim so much fun! I wonder how many other jets in the sim just don’t go as deep in the systems to simulate this issue? There are other jets that have electric start systems, but not sure if they simulate this issue.

Phenom 300E, will cut SHED bus 2 during start (even with GPU connected), killing all power to your VCS compressor, suddenly, then once the engine start is completed, SHED 2 bus, will come back again, your VCS gets powered again.

Now imagine what’s happening here, you have AC on at max, you start engine 2, compressor loses power suddenly, then receives power again after start, you then start engine 1, VCS once again loses power, then received power again after start.

This can stress the compressor massively, and on internal leters we’re shared with me, pilots on two big operators in USA were told to turn off the AC before starting engines, in an attempt to reduce the amount of high VCS failures they were having.

So, I simulate all this, the circuits, the relays, the QSC operation, the lost of SHED2 bus, and ultimately the flaky VCS, which will gave a higher chance to fail, if you start engines with it running, specially at max power on hot days.

This is explained in detail on the user manual I believe..

So, yes, I simulate lots of things, even tail wind causing hot engines starts.

Zadma, I opened a ticket with Asobo about this, still not sure if they understand the issue, link: https://devsupport.flightsimulator.com/t/carrer-mode-liveries/18388/7

They are asking if you guys experience this are playing as freelancers or employees, can you elaborate your experience? so I can explain this further to them? aparenlty in carrer mode you can pick a livery depending on cirscuntances? This is their comment:

For the freelancer, it will always be the same (the one bought by the player).
But for the employee mode, it will be part random, as some liveries will not be available depending on the player’s location (desert, forest, jungle, etc)

Can you advise and help guys? as 3rd party developer we spend all our time coding, little flying, so we do not have credits or anything to buy the plane, and test in full like you guys use it, we launch the missions direclty from dev tools, to confirm things are working.

I would apreciate some guidance on this from you folks, so I can continue the discussions with Asobo regarding the liveries and carreer matters.

Best,
Raul

The player cannot choose a livery in Freelancer mode - they always have the same livery, the one forced on the player. Here is the current aircraft purchase flow in Freelancer mode:

Model → Variant → Insurance → Delivery → Summary → Confirmation

What I am asking for is that once we choose the variant, we also be given an opportunity to choose the livery - just as in this flow in the aircraft configuration menus in Free Flight:

Model → Variant → [this is where Livery should be selected] → Insurance → Delivery → Summary → Confirmation

Ideally, we could also select a livery from this list when using the “Repaint” option when managing a Company-owned aircraft in Freelancer mode. Currently it just allows to restore aircraft paint to what it was when you first purchased it, but not choose a new livery if desired:

Hopefully that helps clear up what I (and I believe the community) are asking/hoping for. This is a major problem in the Freelancer side of Career especially in cases where the default livery we’re “forced” to use is particularly ugly, where we own many of the same aircraft type and desire variety to help set them apart, and (probably the biggest issue people have) when we’re purchasing airliners and have to use (for example) an Air New Zealand A320 no matter where we’re operating the aircraft.

Are you sure the bad ratings in career mode originate from high cabinets temps? Or in other words (question for everyone): does cabin temperature influence passenger ratings in the „stock“ FS career mode?

negative, we don’t influence the stock carreer mode point system via any custom simulations, is not posible, the SDK does not expose such things to be tempered with.

R.

I genuinely think that some of those passenger satisfaction ratings are essentially like rolling dice in an RPG - you just gotta hope for a 20, otherwise your score suffers.

Hello. I’m interested in buying this plane. I bought the FSR500 and I’m delighted with it.

But I fly from the Xbox console, and I would like that, before buying, someone can confirm if the integration with Simbrief is total, as it happens with the FSR500. Flight tracking included.

Thanks a lot

Hi, is this a bug?

The pilot weight is always 127kg at the start (That’s pretty heavy  ). It also remains 127kg, even if I change the amount on the right side of the tablet:

thanks

E.

Yes, because the ms EFB puts a cache on pilot services and always overrides my figures.

I found now a way to avoid it, is fixed internally and will be out on the next scheduled update.

R.

The new Phenom update seems to have broken passengers in career mode VIP charter missions :slightly_frowning_face:

This is probably due to Asobo’s buggy career mode and buggy tablet, but in the past the Phenom was the only plane with its own EFB that worked for me.

Previously:

  1. Start VIP charter mission
  2. Match Phenom tablet values with MSFS tablet values (while also adding a pilot, since MSFS is always bugged at 0 pilot weight for career missions)
  3. Choose the career prompt to start boarding
  4. Instant load weights from the Phenom tablet after the boarding cutscene, which properly loaded passengers into the Phenom tablet.

After the update, when I load instant from the Phenom tablet, it does not populate any passengers in the Phenom tablet. Unloading instant removes all passengers from the MSFS tablet, but loading instant again resets the MSFS tablet to its previous passenger numbers but doesn’t load any passengers into the Phenom tablet.

Anyone else also seeing this? I tried in two different VIP missions with the same result.

Edit:

I tested this some more in free flight and it indeed appears to be an Asobo issue related to passenger loading via ATC being unavailable when an aircraft is not at a gate. I am guessing this same behind-the-scenes workflow is what breaks things in career mode.

To replicate:

  1. Start the flight at a small parking spot
  2. Load passengers via the MSFS EFB
  3. Choose the option to “Save config and open ATC panel”
  4. If you tune to ground and open ground services, you’ll see the option to request fuel but no option to request passengers
  5. Load passengers via the MSFS EFB again, this time selecting “Load Immediately”
  6. You’ll notice the passengers never get loaded and you still have the “This is a preview” message in the loadout screen of the MSFS EFB

If you try the above when parked at a gate, a bus will come, passengers will load, and the Phenom EFB will update. I bet if I find a career mission at a gate, it will also work as intended.

Anyway, I will report the bug to Asobo… I’m guessing there is not much Raul can do other than workarounds that could break the other things that he fixed with the MSFS EFB integration!

I was able to randomly work around this issue by changing seat positions in the MSFS EFB, but even in that case you will lose one passenger because the pilot is always 0 for VIP charter missions.

Question: i noticed the new medivac option does not have PRO labeled. does this mean it’s using the basic/beginner flight model only?

According to Raul on the FSR discord server it is using the “Pro” flight model.

thanks!

ok one more question, after “start mission” how long does it take until the ambulance shows up with the sick person? ive been waiting a bit. i tried pressing ‘request pax’ but nada. how can i instantly load my pax so i can get going?

UPDATE: i figured it out, you have to have all 4 seats with weight in them to request pax. Then the ambulance shows up

Can anyone flying this on PlayStation confirm if there’s a performance issue when flying the 300e at night? The cockpit texture would be extremely blurry with the panel lights on, and the FPS dropped significantly after a while. I’m using a basic PS5, so I’m not sure if it’s an optimization problem or simply a physical limitation of the PS5.

You would probably be better off posting about this here:

And Raul/the team will be able to tell you whether it is a bug or not. If it is a bug, I’m sure they will sort it out ASAP.

I am tempted to get Phenom as my first payware bizjet.

I have read reviews and it is quite common to say that it is quite heavy for VRAM and resources in general. My PC is not the best and most modern, more a mediocre.

So, what is the situation. Should I look elsewhere because of that?

What PC specs you got? Because we have people in the beta team with simple 3080 GPU cards, some with only 8GB of VRAM and they run phenom just fine.

It is running on Xbox-S, and PS5 your PC is surely much better than an Xbox-S..

We had a performance issues reported at release related to vram from people that had low ram gpus, running at high quality textures and 4K, this was fixed and pushed in 48 hours after release.

Best,

R.

Runs very well for me on base PS5!

It works great on my modest rig along with reasonable graphics settings. See my profile for hw specs.
