FSUIPC - Do I still need this?

Hi,

I have been a major user of FSUIPC by Pete Dawson since the day dot. I have found it a great way to interface with various interations of MSFS over the years, in particular PMDG and Fenix aircraft as well as other complex add on aircraft.

WHilst MSFS2024’s control interface isn’t very intuative, I’m wondering if it can do everything that FSUIPC can and hence whether I can make the move from FSUIPC to the native control assignments.

Any one have any views on this ?

Thanks,
Rob

Unless there is a very specific need, we do not advise FSUIPC for any of our products in MSFS2020 or 2024.

I use native assignments for most things, but there are still a few things I need addons for.

For example, I don’t like the long “key-repeat delay” MSFS has on things like trim up/trim down (i.e. hold trim and you’ll get a little bit, then a pause, then finally it starts moving continuously) so I have FSUIPC (or spad.next or whatever) send trim commands directly with the FSUIPC’s own key-repeat delay set very low.

I also wasn’t able to get certain kinds of button-combos to work with just the native controls, e.g. “when this three-way switch is in position two, turning this rotary dial moves the heading bug” so I use FSUIPC to set that up. (FS2024 does have button combos, but they don’t seem to work well with holding one button down continuously the way a three-way switch does.)
