Do you know when that Sydney screenshot was taken and if it uses any mods? I was just complaining that building windows are too dim at night - San Diego at this distance looks like a black hole among the surrounding street lights. But this picture looks great.
It was taken just before sunset. Also I purchased the Sidney scenery from orbix.
Thanks, sorry I didn’t mean time of day. I mean how recently? After the last update?
The question is not very complicated. FSX is not a different sim, it is simply obsolete so are the sims using the ESP engine or any other similar world sim engine made in the early 2000.
It is like comparing a Pocket PC phone to a modern mobile phone or any other similar comparision…
I actually stopped using FSX only because my 13 yr old computer struggles to run it - but it runs MSFS well!
Lets get the obvious out of the way: no matter how many visual mods you throw at it FSX can never touch MSFS. Having said that with ORBX + some other 3rd party software and mods it CAN be made to look very nice.
There are a lot of things FSX did very well that are absent from MSFS. Others before me have already mentioned them. We miss the [S] & [A] keys to cycle views. for example. Spot, Locked Spot, Flyby, Tower etc. And of course the replay.
FSX strongest point are its missions and excellent Flight School. I will even go as far as saying to the new people who are serious about learning about flight: FSX is cheap. Get it - IGNORE the visuals, you are not getting it for visuals - and then do the flight school. Rod Machado is excellent. Bring those skills to MSFS!
It gave me many years of happiness but its time has now come to rest. Thanks FSX
Yes after the last update.
Well said.
Actually MSFS was built off of the FSX engine, its not completely built from the ground up.
Oh at this point I can definitely tell…
