GAIST Global AI Ship Traffic V6 and Great Lakes

You didn’t take a picture? There is no route crossing so a bit weird; what is your traffic settings? It might be a default ship. I do not know if any other add-ons could have such a route, but a screenshot would identify it.

I will take a look at the Red Sea - now that traffic seems generally to appear as intended I can reinforce for the next update. I do have a few other places which will also get some attention.

The freighter going backwards is most likely default. They go backwards… That has been signaled to Asobo long ago. If it is over a short distance it could be one of mine as they will go backwards for the first approx 300-500 m and then turn around - if I have not been precise enough it could be slightly longer.

thanks you so much!!

Have not seen any ship traffic down the gulf of Mexico then up the entire east coast of the US and Canada. Then the Greenland, Iceland.
I am running the Beta.

Bump for "Are the traffic percentage settings the same? Should we keep ships around 10%? "

Most likely yes because AI Ships, Boats & Global Traffic for MSFS states that:

In MSFS general options under traffic ships and ferries should be set to 5-10 % for best performance. Increasing above 10% will not add any traffic to this project.

Must be an SU15 thing or another issue. I am flying down the East Coast and there are ships everywhere.

I have traffic in many places around the world I’ve flown recently and definitively on the US east coast. Running on SU14. Fantastic mod by the way, thanks to the creators.

Just for clarity, are you running the MSFS beta, or the old GAIST beta? If its the later, this no longer works as the company the provided the live data feed ended that service.

Hmm, been lucky enough to use the live beta version very successfully. But last night I noticed no visuals even though LNM said there was a ship there - ah well it was good while it lasted, I’ll go back to V5.

MSFS beta, new GAIST. When I got to Greenland I started seeing ships.

Just flew over Elbe, a River in North Germany Not one Ship there…Normal?

yes, works only on oceans

For AI traffic on the lower Elbe you should have a look at simdocks.de - Manfred Siedler has several traffic files for GAIST.

I’m running GAIST ultra v5, ship routes v1.1, using Addons Linker. I’ve been flying from Alaska through to China/Malaysia/Indonesia/Ocenaia, and I haven’t seen any ships since leaving Alaska, apart from what I assume are Seafront or MSFS vessels in Hong Kong and Singapore.
I just had a test flight over the English Channel and saw plenty of GAIST traffic, so it’s definitely working OK there.

There’s some good stuff in there. GAIST - SimDocks Forum

Would be ideal if at some point these could be merged to main GAIST.

I’m not sure I understand… are you saying that the V5 GAIST/ Ship routes _v1_1 doesn’t have global coverage and I need to install those packs?

I haven’t seen any GAIST ships in the Pacific recently, although as I mentioned, I see plenty in the English Channel so it’s definitely installed correctly - I’m currently flying around Indonesia/ Malaysia/ Papau en route to Oz. Settings are at 8%.

Ive seen a handful near port moresby in PNG. But nothing around the coast of western Papua
