Game may crash if the VFR Map is not opened right after starting the flight

  • Game may crash if the VFR Map is not opened right after starting the flight

I haven’t downloaded the update yet so I don’t know how prevalent this is but holy cow Asobo… This is an example of a “no-go” bug that should’ve held the release back.

I’ve been pretty positive about everything and trying to be a big Asobo advocate since launch but this is just insane… Someone at Asobo needs to step up and say “No. We can’t release this patch with that big of a bug. Push it back a week.” They need to stop letting Marketing dictate their release schedule and listen to their engineers.

I can just totaly agree with that… it’s unbelievable… -_-
And I confirm… open VFR map lead to a CTD. It’s pathetic…

Weird, that’s actually the opposite of what the notes suggest. It sounded like the game would crash if you DON’T open the VFR map right after the flight starts.

They Need to hotfix this ASAP!

I’ve disabled VFR map but still hangs with polygons on screen. So now I have to enable it and show VFR map everytime on FLY? WTF…

Yeah i understood that too, but its the opposite.
On a flight Tokyo/Narita to Nagoya by using the A320 (before downloading Japan Update) i turned on the VFR map a couple of times with no problems until suddently when i pressed V to open up the VFR Map again inflight, the Sim froze for a second and then CTD.

HA! You must be new here… “hotfix” is not part of Asobo’s vocabulary.

lol Yeah, they don’t do hot fixes. We’ll all have to patiently wait for the next patch at the end of October. Maybe they’ll fix it, maybe they won’t.

I am curious how could such “new bugs” happen in the first place. Not used to it from other games/sims/programms. Its like fixing/replacing an aircraft tire IRL and suddently the Autopilot is broken.

Well, I need to test again, but I had it open on start of flight, closing it then shut the game down, 20 minutes into a flight

It crashes when the VFR map is opened.

And hangs when closed/disabled.

same ■■■■ here - when hitting the V-Key --> CTD. Happend two times in 3 flights (during the “japan-flight”). When i remember right, it only crashed when i was in outside-view of the plane…but i´m not sure atm…

EDIT: before the Japan-update i have had no problems

So

  1. There is a CTD bug when/if you try to open the VFR map after some undetermined event that takes place shortly after starting the flight?
    and
  2. There is a documentation bug on the update change log with unfortunate wording?

Is this associated to the Scenery update or general sim issue? I ask because I was/am not really in a hurry to fly over Japan!

QA probably found the bug and devs were not allowed to fix it before patch release. Now we need to wait two or more weeks.

General Sim patch issue, i dont have Japan installed yet.

Happens inside as well and not the fault of Japan Update but problem came with the patch.

Just did an hour flight and no crashes on my side relating to VFR map. I didn’t open it before or during the flight and had no issues. Of course, latest patch basically broke the A320 again…these patches/updates need to be tested more thoroughly. This is getting ridiculous.

“game may crash if you dont do this thing immediately after starting a flight”

dear game developers. wtf is wrong with you?
