This is my last attempt - hail mary attempt - to get a simple regression fixed before release of SU5 (announced for April 20-24).
SU5 broke FSR3 Frame Generation for multiple monitor users (and DLSS FG only works on 1 monitor). I strongly believe this is simply a SETTINGS issue, because FSR3 FG worked fine until now.
I see it as similar to the issue of the Cockpit Interaction: Setting it to Legacy was not being obeyed. That was bug logged, and fixed in the latest v1.7.21.0 release.
In the first version of SU5 release notes, they maded “fixes” to FSR3 on NVIDIA cards, and since then FSR3 has not been applied to multiple screens.
It’s entirely possible FSR3 is not being activated at all when you select FSR3 Frame Generation, and instead, DLSS FG is being activated - that would explain why it is only working on 1 screen.
I’m not a developer, so I can’t say what the exact cause is, but there is a pattern in SU5 of settings not being obeyed or applied correclty. Some of those were acknowledged and fixed. But this issue of Frame Generation has NOT been fixed, and it fundamentally breaks the experience for those of us who depend on it.
Since the release of MSFS 2024, the configuration of triple monitors has been… hobbled. The Setup screen in 2020 used to show a view you could use while entering the alignment offsets, making it relatively easy to adjust as you view. In MSFS 2024, all you see is a blurred out screen - WHY? Now, by removing Frame Generation for triple screens, they are effectively killing it. Is that intentional? Are they actively discouraging users from seeking to get the most out of MSFS? I’d like to say that’s ridiculous, but here we are. I tend to think it’s just because nobody at Microsoft or Asobo are even using triple screens, so they just don’t see the problem and are too busy with other priorities. So then it’s just bias.
I’m sure we are a minority, but those of us who have invested time, money, and ambition in triple screen, home cockpit set ups, are dedicated simmers. If this regression is left unfixed, it really hobbles the experience, and the investment, for some of us. Thanks for listening - if you are listening…
