Hi, I just came across this software. It’s supposed to work with all aircraft, and—as is well known—it eliminates the need to pop out panels, which typically consumes a lot of graphics performance. It even claims to support touchscreens on tablets—which is excellent for any FMC featuring a touch panel.

I currenlty use a combination of AirManager and Popout Panel Manager. This app will certainly change the way we fly. Well done to the author of the app.
Just my two cents: it’s really a game changer. Right now not all panels on all airliners can be „popped out“ or displayed on a panel screen, like the FI ones on the L1011, but it’s really worth the money and help to get more and new immersion.
Just purchased the app after playing with it for 30min. I am the developer of MSFS pop out panel manager and Glassout seems to be a game changer for cockpit builders and has a lot potentials. Even in the current beta form, it is 90% there. So glad another developer is taking on the challenge to create a much needed feature that Asobo wasn’t able to rioritize for the past 6 years since MSFS 2020.
Just tried the demo on the circuit with the C172 Classic and the Avidyne avionic. It took me 1 min to “discover” the 2x Avidyne displays and grab it to my second monitor. Save the profile and at the second launch, choose the profile and my two displays where on my second screen.
It seems to be OK and work as advertised. Very reactive. Didn’t notice any performance impact (but I have a powerful rig). As it copies only the screen I was disappointed not to have the physical button of the iFD 
The “Discover” feature found the 2x IFD 540 and 550 displays + the KAP140 (autopilot) + KR87 (ADF receiver). For the KAP140, we need a background bitmap (or I didn’t know where to find it).
Interface seems very advanced and polished considering it’s a Beta (coming from ATC programs where Beta’s seem to be for ever from zero alpha stage ). Appreciate also the zero subscription business model.
Did a quick test with my iPad mini. App found the engine (software running on my MSFS PC) immediately, and display any displays it has detected (the 2x IFD…). But I didn’t find out to display two windows on the iPad to show the 540 and 550. Only one instance of the app and only one resizable window available. Maybe a demo limitation.
Next: I have to charge an old iPad (regular size) and test on it. Afraid it’s incompatible as my old iPad may not be able to run iPad OS 15.1 or above.

im exited to … at first i thought there is no performance drop, it does not feel like it is… but, made a quick test compare
- without any pop out display
- with POPM
- with Glass Out
Tested sitting at SimWings EDDH Rwy 23 with “Few Clouds” Preset at 11:35 am. 30 Seconds each
Slightly less FPS and slightly higher frametimes .. ok 30 Seconds is really short, but maybe the POPM Frametimes Spikes are random 'can always happen-Spikes" or (what i beleive are POPM Spikes) … will do some flights with GlassOut this evening.
Looks like Popout Panel Manager could be a thing of the past. Here we have a $16.00 beta/$22.00 when released glass screens manager called “glassout” and can be used via network. This should allow me to run just the external views in MS2024 reducing the demand on the server computer, with the other four monitors working via the network. So I’ll be able to switch between XP12 and MS2020/2024 just by moving two cables to my external monitors. S W E E T
So we have Prosim for over $1,600 plus a yearly subscription.

I also tried the GlassOut demo today and connected it to my Amazon Fire 8 HD and a Smartphone via the app. For almost all the aircraft I tested, nothing was displayed under Discover. There were only black, empty windows, even though the cockpit display was recognized and shown as the description 
I also tested the Cessna 172 IFD. In that case, both displays were shown, and I could operate the IFD via touchscreen… 
However, the “Wx Overlay” button in the bottom left corner didn’t respond.
Could someone else test this “Wx Overlay” button with the IFD from the Cessna 172 on a Smartphone or Tablet?
Agreed. Third party devs like yourself and others recognise what’s needed and then go make it happen. Why automated pop outs or now texture streaming is not built into the sim with the feature set that these external apps have is beyond me. But that’s Microsoft for you. Bravo for the past few years. Keeping us going with popouts.
Now all I need is for this tech to be built directly into Air Manager so there is no need for another app just like xplane12 can do.
Actually, the button from the MSFS Cockpit and the button from the remote Glassout… don’t respond both

For starters I purchased a program called glassout for $16.00. Not sure if their link is permitted, if not please remove it and accept my apology.

On the MS2024 computer you install glassout and register the program, minimize it with MS2024 running so you can see the 3D panel. Next you need firefox on your secondary computer, once that’s installed you’ll need to run a script to open the glass screens in firefox.
This is the script:: NOTE: You’ll have to position the glass screens to reflect your hardware setup, this isn’t simple plug and play. It’s the last line in each section. ALSO NOTE: You’ll also have to change the URL addresses to reflect yours.

Picked it up yesterday and did a few flights.
Setup is quick and straight forward and I experienced less of a performance hit than with standard pop outs.
Plus the instant on streaming is nice versus camera’s panning around while popping out.
Could someone please test this using the PMS GTN750 avionics in several different aircraft? For example:

I consistently only see empty, black panels under “Discover,” even though a connection is established and the aircraft are correctly recognized… 
Well, I guess I have to buy this and try it out now… but I have thoughts.
Up front, let me say that this is a welcome option, because the MSFS native pop-out capability sucks, and it’s only POPM that’s made it usable. If, as it appears, this works at the DX12 level and doesn’t rely on access to the sim process, then in theory it should be resistant to being broken by sim updates. A good thing. Minimal performance impact is a good thing. There’s a reason XP lets you do this.
That said, I note that it’s a labour of love by a single developer. That’s so often the case in this hobby, and it’s given us fundamental sim infrastructure like FSUIPC and POPM, but it’s also risky. Ask the one-time users of Ultimate Traffic 2 or PRO-ATC how that worked out for them. With commercial products you don’t have the source code like you do for POPM, so if the original dev drops out, for whatever reason, no-one else can pick it up unless the dev sells or gives it to someone else. I’ve seen many add-ons die that way over the years.
And then there’s the ever-present elephant in the room - this doesn’t do anything about the bezels and panels problem. You still have to use Air Manager. You still have to rely on someone to make Air Manager instruments for your aircraft, or make them yourself. I love the SI guys, they are so enthusiastic for this hobby, but universal coverage of all panels for all aircraft is never going to happen. Just yesterday FSR’s Phenom 300 was released; I want to use it in my simpit, but without AM panels it’s going to suck as an experience since I’ll have to bind multiple control actions to single hardware buttons. Not particularly immersive when I have five touch screens sitting empty that I could put AM panels on. I could try to make some, sure, I’ve got the coding chops for that, but I definitely don’t have the graphics-making chops and that’s not something AI is going to do for you any time soon.
I’ll repeat what I’ve said on other threads: if MSFS had what P3D and FSX had - the ability to have multiple different camera views open at the same time in multiple windows, plus native touch support for all views - then you could point a camera at a panel in the cockpit and operate it via touch on another monitor. No extra software needed. Add a ‘virtual cockpit only’ camera and you can do that without it turning into a slide show. To not have that capability, when the 20-year-old ancestor of this sim already did, is crazy.
Anything that helps work around that is great, but we should never have had to do any of this.

I can see and stream the PMS GTN750 avionics. Under discover I see lots of instruments.
Is the aircraft powered on?
Check Windows firewall settings. If not sure, disable firewall and test.
People who has axis and ohs https://www.axisandohs.com/, can stream the instruments usings it’s App/Web Windows gauges functionality. Copy and paste the instrument URL from GlassOut Discover window to App/Web Windows new desktop FIP. Select Chromium option.
The EFB is on a touchscreen and touch works flawlessly.
Tested this workflow: Save layouts in AAO. Stop Glassout. Start Glassout. AAO windows start streaming after few seconds. No need to click amything in Glassout. For me this is useful as I always have AAO running when flying.
I am sure someone will find way to autohide the Windows boarder 
Also, I am aware of builttin layout functionality available within GlassOut. I am just a hacker who likes to find/test different ways!
To bad the buttons and knows arent there so this seems a mis for touchscreen use.
But i wil buy this anyway
