@hnielsen791 if you could use another beta tester for ships around the UK, feel free to pm me. I’m very interested in the mod, but haven’t used it before. But it looks so cool!
we will need more beta testers next weekend - at that time it will be with at least 400 ships and probably some mistakes to correct before public launch a few days later.
Awesome.
Pick me! pick me!
Please
Henrik, I gladly offer my services as a tester as well, if you need it.
I’ve enjoyed your mod on FSX and on MSFS and have modified it to add numerous routes in the Caribbean since that is where I mainly fly. If I can be of help, please don’t hesitate to ask. Thanks for all you do for this fine hobby.
Well… two conclusions from that one… works in multiplayer… and will be even better once we get the light back on
Meanwhile we have got through around 450-500 models now… Slowly but steadily… GIMP, Blender, … they have been good company this weekend.
Here is a more detailed video of an ICON A5 seaplane landing next to the Staten Island Ferry in rain and fog.
Notice the large number of multiplayer aircraft and the high framerate without stutters or other problems.
This looks absolutely amazing, can’t wait to try it out. I suspect you’ve more than enough volunteers to test the mod out prior to public release but I’ve all the time in the world and would love to help if needed.
Will the boats create waves in the final version?
Waves or wakes?
Wakes will be included, however currently the wakes that can be included in the sim are a bit limited, but they give the impression of movement. We have done testing and have a set of wakes ready for inclusion; it again requires that we revisit the ships but after the initial conversion it is an easier process and we can do little by little.
Calypso by Didier “Lagaffe” with a test wake installed in MSFS… the old ship got some high octane fuel to create that spray but you can also still see the engine smoke hanging in the air
Creating real waves around the ships is something different; hopefully Asobo will enable it. They have specified something for 2022, but not what… A fantastic example of how good it can look can be seen in Digital Combat Simulator, where some of my models have been included with dynamic interaction between model and the virtual water.
One of my models but with dynamic water interaction in Digital Combat Situation; hopefully Asobo will be inspired
If you need more testers, I’m also applying please. Thanks!
This looks fantastic! If you’d like some coverage on YouTube do let me know
Must have been ultra light and thin water I didn’t know MSFS is even to provide such a large scale of interaction with the water mesh - it looks quiet cool but ofc exaggerated in this case
I’d also provide myself as a tester is needed. I’m a tester/test manager/ QA engineer irl so I got limited time but I’m focused on defects (Flying mostly in the US [Alaska, SoCal, NY], Europe [Germany, Canary Islands] and Dubai.
Review:
I have not experienced stuttering when encountering vessels.
The exterior textures look amazing.
The details are spot on.
As no NYC ferries (including Staten Island) are modelled in v1 I’m assuming you are ‘reviewing’ the upcoming beta?
