Global Time Not Progressing at the Increased Sim Rate

Same issue here
I found this problem when I checked the time if the time increase to see if the sim rate is higher or lower
Could be good to have on screen the sim rate as FS2020

This!! I thought I’m going senile or so. Once you change the sim rate you seem to be either in 2x or in 0.5x mode. This is really annoying, obvious and I’m surprised that this made it to live. On the other side, one week later - nothing surprises me anymore lol

Another thing that was perfectly fine in 2020 broken in 2024.

thank the lord!!
i thought i was loosing it
i saw that too, and not only in 2024.. i saw that in 2020 as well
changing the rate “two up” and then “two down” doesn’t result in the original rate, it results in some weird in-between rate, like 1.25 or 0.75
and also, no rate indicator in 2020, and no rate indicator in 2024
so, yeah…

You can read the simconnect.simrate variable in any tool such as spad.next. I have actually mapped it to a radial led indicator on a midi controller as a workaround

This has been a problem with the sim since 2020 that for some reason has never been resolved. But in 2020, I used to be able to look at the in-cockpit clock and time the seconds to see whether I’d returned to 1x time. Now the in-cockpit clock always ticks at 1 sec/sec regardless of sim rate. In 2020, there were 2 stops below 1x, so you could spam the sim-rate down button until it had bottomed out and then click up twice. That doesn’t seem to work in 2024. Please dear god give us a way to reset the sim rate to 1.

Same issue here, global time is not progressing with increased sim rate, worked perfectly in MSFS2020

I also have the same issue. I also find that after the update the sim time stays stationary while the plane clock keeps ticking.

This is still an issue after 1.2.7.0!
Please fix soon.

I have assigned 2 keys to increase and decrease simrate and nothing happens when I hit them. Also It would be nice when you are in accelerated simrate, that sim rate factor should show up on your screen to let the user know if they are 2x, 4x etc and back to 1X.

When flying the A330 in 4x sim rate, the clock remains in real time, while the aircraft flies at the accelerated time. Upon arriving in Europe from North America, it’s still the middle of the night when the departure took place at 8:30 pm. (Ottawa to London Heathrow flight).

Was working fine before the latest patch. Now it does it all the time.

  1. Take off from Ottawa
  2. Hit sim rate “+” to 4 x real time
  3. Clock on Airbus cockpit remains synced with real time but the aircraft flies at 4 times rate.
  4. Arrive in London at 4:30 am instead of 8:30 am.
  5. Removal of Mods did nothing to fix the problem
  6. Using Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant and a Forza Controller. Both worked fine with Mods before the latest patch.
  7. Developer mode is on.
  8. AMD 7900XT
  9. AMD 7800 X3D, 64 GB Ram, Windows 11 (latest update)

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yes, also fuel is not burnt according to sim rate!

Another regression :frowning:

thats an iniBuilds issue, all their planes do that. I work around by taking note of EFOB just beofre takeoff then just before TOD I use the EFB to change fuel level to 1 tonne more that the origional EFOB.

If you use the Fenix and sim rate it the fuel burn is correct.

I hope they can sort the time issue for the next patch as it is a bit of a pain. Currently about 40 miles of TOD I manualy change the time and allow the aircraft about a minute to adjust to the updated weather.

They have fixed the issue where fuel burn in sim rate was also wrong. Even though world time is still not working in sim rate the airplanes are now burning the correct amount of fuel now.

This is a general error in MSFS2024, in all aircraft. If the sim rate is increased, the time in the cockpit clock remains at normal speed.

Does anyone know if they have this bug on their priority list for patches?

I waited so long to use the sim rate with the Inibuilds aircraft, now that I can, the simulator is broken.

+1 to the fix request. Definitely needs sorting as takes the immersion out of long haul if you don’t have hours to spare.

Another knock-on effect from this bug. In career mode the sim-rate elapsed time isn’t considered when counting daily insurance cost. My (sped up) 3 hour flight only charged 45 minutes of insurance.

This utility fix the time progression problem.

It won’t fix fuel comsumption on IniBuiilds aircraft, but what bothered me the most was seeing the sun in the same position on an 8-hour flight, so that solves it for now.

it’s a great shame that such a simple feature wasn’t fixed and the modder did it quickly. for the best summary of this sim’s condition
