Global Time Not Progressing at the Increased Sim Rate

Has anyone confirmed whether this is still an issue in the SU1 Beta? Hopefully my utility is no longer necessary.

Never mind, still a thing. In-sim time progresses at 1x (or rather, its offset to system time remains the same) no matter if you’re using a sim rate other than 1x, if you’re paused, or anything like that.

Yes, I spent some time with the SU1 beta tonight and unfortunately this bug remains.

While we haven’t yet garnered enough votes to make it onto the feedback snapshot, it’s great to see the attention simmers are drawing to this issue given its severity on serious long-haul flight simulation.

Please do upvote this thread if long-haul flight is important to you! I am hopeful we have caught the developer’s attention and it would be nice to see us make it onto the bug snapshot.

This bug is still there what a…. but live wheather is now seprate from time you select I Think so with the app that fix HTC time this Game start to be playable nów after months…

Really wish this gets fixed in SU2 then as the realism in Transatlantic / Transpacific flights are destroyed with the bug remaining. It also affects your day time / night time log book as well :frowning:

At least for those of you on PC, my utility should continue to help with that until it’s fixed by Asobo. I did my first transatlantic flight in FS2024 yesterday at 4x during cruise, and it was nice to see the accelerated night progression and sunrise like I was used to from FS2020.

Another broken item on release for 2024…so many missed things…

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

The clock in the aircraft is not synchronised with the sim rate. When slowing down the sim rate, the aircraft’s clock continues to click by based on the system clock, when speeding up the sim rate, the aircraft clock does not speed up, instead it maintains the system time.

Speeding up a flight by 4x does not speed up the aircraft clock by 4x causing time to pass incorrectly in the game. A four hour flight sped up to 1 hour real time, will still only pass 1 hour on the aircraft clock, and time of day.

In FS2020, as sim rate was increased or decreased, so was the rate of passage of time on the aircraft clock and the simulators time in weather menu. This is not carried forward in FS2024.

very frustrating, just arrived doing a cargo mission in career, to find it was still dark - and the runway had no lights.
(the ETA was late morning so would not have been a problem if time had passed as it should)

Xbox, Series X, when sim rate is >1x, time elapses at normal 1x rate.

Did you experience this issue before you joined the Beta? — YES

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue: — A330-300 iniBuilds and A320n v2 iniBuilds

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue? — N/A

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)? — EACH TIME SIM RATE IS INCREASED >1X

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Increase sim rate >1x
  2. Clock and chronometer still run at normal rate, which is 1x.

Well the good news according to the Bug List is that they are looking to fix it by SU2. Would be interesting to see if the fix will also reflect on the clocks on the cockpit and day/night time on pilot’s logbook too.

not only “sim rate” but also when (pressing P) in pause (f.i.) the sun sets and the world continues to move on while only you are frozen

(it reminds me sadly of my life, but this does not concern you all)

Based on today’s blog post it appears we are now the first bug to be slated for a SU3 fix. While the move from SU2 to SU3 is unfortunate, I take it as a positive sign that the devs have investigated a cause and are dedicating resources to a fix. The sim has been moving in the right direction; hopefully things are back up to MSFS2020 standards by the time we head into end of 2025.

Good I hope they will refund us our money until they get it working!

Next bad News lastest information is sim update 3!
Great Basic and simple thing we have to wait half year to be fixed. I just cant belive it is really Great potential simulator and I was hope to start play after this thing will be fixed in sim update 2 :frowning:

It’s all moving too slow, they say they have 100s of people staffed, things have never moved slower IMO
The SU1 beta is going well, but that’s just performance. All the career mode bugs and most frustratingly, just normal bugs that weren’t in 2020, like the sim rate time of day synchronisation should be fixed 6 months post release, which is fast approaching

This is a real problem if you are trying to simulate airline schedules.

If you use any accelerated time you arrive way earlier because the sim time is always at 1x even if you are moving at 16x.

with the A350 doing ultra long hauls and time acceleration this will be a real problem.

Arrival times will be completely wrong.

There is a utility for fixing the time problem " Sim Time Rate Adjuster for MSFS 2024" this fixing the time problem if you are playing on pc. You can download from Flightsim.to.

Insane that once again the community fixes an issue the Asobo cant be bothered with for 2 service updates
