Bye Bye Flight Simulator 2024, see you hopefully in 6 months, I’m back to the 2020 that is working fine for me. The status of the game at this stage is simply embarrassing, but I must say I had a good laugh tonight. I tried to play IFR with my PDMG from Boston to Philadelphia. It took almost half an hour but I managed in someway to load a route, I spent 10 mins more to try to jump into the plane while all around I was surrounded by planes protruding the airport buildings and finally when I switched to ATC they started to speak with Arabic accent from the Boston tower and my captain (Canada airlines) replied with the same (I believe it was Egyptian) accent…AH AH AH! It was really funny. I mean this game is so bad at this stage that it will take not less than 6 months to reach the same level the msfs-2020 was four years ago
There was a server download volume problem 2 days ago.
Too many like you.
I haven’t bought MSFS2024. Yet? I’ll wait.
Enjoy 2020! It really is a great sim, but even 2020 wasn’t great for about 6 months after it released. Especially if you wanted to fly an airliner, those were terrible at 2020’s release.
It really has come a long way, and 2024 will also.
Yeah, me too.
Controls constantly re-set…today TrackIR stopped working…
judders and shudders…
Spend more time screwing around than flying…
And too many more to list…
After today, I’m done for a while.
What a mess, what a rip-off.
(But hey. it sure is pretty )
Agree with you. Got a refund from MicroBoso and haven’t looked back. Maybe will revisit this one day but by the looks of it, may be a couple three years.
True, but at least 2020 is in much better shape than 2024 is now. I just tried a lukla flight in the 340. and the yoke, and rudders dont work in it. the autopilot doesnt do anything. so switched to the Skycourrier. In vr. the left and right eyes are off, and none of the mouse locations match buttons. I cant do this . its miserable.
2020 was better than FS24 in its first 6 months. We’ve definitely taken a step backwards.
Career mode is buggy but free flight isn’t as bad. The planes are better in 2024 than default 2020 were, especially when it came to airliners.
As far as the UI goes, we’ve definitely taken a step backward. The keybind UI in 2024, it’s just so convoluted and bad.
Some things have taken a step forward, but yeah some things have taken a step backwards too
My experience is the opposite. I’ve done mostly career mode, but thankfully not been impacted (yet?) by the major career breaking bugs like many others. Then again, I haven’t started getting into the company ownership side of things.
On the free flight side of things, I haven’t really touched it. The only two aircraft I would care to fly, outside of idle curiosities, are the Diamond DA40 NG and Cessna CJ4. Both of those planes are so broken in FS24 as to not be usable.
@IlGrandePuffone I may be following suit and heading back to FS20 if I get bored of the career mode before things are fixed. I don’t get a lot of flight time, so it may keep my interested for a while despite the abhorrent state of the sim. I do know if I plan to do another free flight, especially the around-the-country trip I had been working on prior to the FS24 release, I’ll have to go back to FS20. I’m doing it in the DA40 NG, and I can’t even taxi in it due to a regression bug.
Like with any new MSFS I’ve experienced over the years, the new one is prettier but buggier and is not quite ready for heavy iron operations. I recommend you keep the old one for IFR and the new one for VFR for now, then eventually switch over when the new one finally comes up to the IFR standard of the old one, which is usually at least 6 months.
Welcome back!
Ok, thx for let us know
There are moments in 2024 when it works, but then there’s the Marketplace and the Library. What is this? How do I know it’s installed correctly? You have entered a twisty little maze with passages leading off in all directions. I can’t see how you will untangle this without starting over.
And this. The King Air has been in the sim since day one; why does it get a broken thumbnail now? I know that sounds like an obvious question, but something in your method allowed this to happen. It’s all about the method.
Well then,…We must assume that all of us You’s will have to be more patiant.
I took will be going back to 2020, I had high hopes for MSFS2024 but I couldn’t get it to install for the first two days (97% club) and I am getting constant CTD or the SIM just freezes. In recent days I’m now getting the error message box tell me that my graphics card encountered and error.
My PC is a high end machine with 64gb RAM, RTX 4090. My pc has been soaked tested by the builder for two days and given a clean bill of health.
Why do you find the CJ4 unusable? It works fine for me…
Wait, ATC has accents now? Wherever I have been in the world every single voice in the sim just sounded American…
2024 works with downloaded airports and planes like Fenix. Stutters at airports problem the DEvs dont seem care about make whatever works in 2024 unusable been using 2020 and XP12. As others said spend more time messing around and getting frustrated than flying. Theres great promise with 2024 but some hard questions need asking at Asobo/MS about what they are going to do to make this sim usable to majority of users. I carnt believe the state it is in after nearly a month personally I dont understand what they are doing (NOT doing) atm. Going be broken into Jan etc really complete JOKE
Agreed - It was an absolutely shameful release. Part of me was thinking that lessons learned during the 2020 release would mean the 2024 release was better. I was waaaay wrong!
From all the comments in this thread. Not a single positive experience was mentioned.
