I don’t use any Rolling Cache on XSX. Performance is very good and stable in SU15. The RC should depend on your internet connection and how you fly.
Rolling Cache: “A file used to automatically store World Data while flying or exploring the World Map. The rolling cache avoids downloading information such as aerials, DEM, TIN, or vector data more than once. It is especially useful when flying over the same zone regularly.”
The rolling cache does improve the loading of data if you have a slow internet connection. But for a flight from A to B it should not do much, as long as you don’t repeat the same flight. From the description above it may not load addon airports.
I would consider removing livery packs to see if it gets better.
Shut down the XB after each session (don’t leave it in standby)
delete addons with consistently bad performance
turn off multiplayer if you don’t need it
use a LAN cable
have some free space of 200 GB or more on your harddisk
It was supposed to be the SU15 but something went wrong and they regressed. For worse. They promised a new update only for consoles and so far they haven’t said anything, not even a prediction.
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
Yes

This was a new one I’ve never seen before, the LOD wouldn’t load the ground personnel outside my aircraft, nor my pilot.
-Princess Julianna TNCM
-CowanSims R66
-16gb rolling cache enabled. (Deleted and refreshed, still persists.) Series X
After looking around I noticed the characters in the sim would not render or pop into detail. Also, notice the “cyber truck” looking polygon vehicles behind ground crew. Shortly after I had ABO Black screens. This is reproducible on my system.
I’ve owned the R66 since it came out in January for MarketPlace. I had no issues for 5 months and 22 days. Never had a black screen until SU15, never had my pilot not render. How is it this helicopter was totally fine in both LOD and no black screens before SU15, But now it’s too demanding on memory? Now it’s too resource intensive? It was fine. SU15 is to blame here. Can we please get SU16 beta up and running? I’m tired of QTD (Quitting to desktop.)

My settings are…
100gb roling cache
No cars
No airport traffic
20 on airport staff
No animals i.e fauna (not to be confused with flora which is trees)
100gb addon cap
Once i created a little map of Europe in Illustrator where i marked all my bought airports (i don’t like the in-game map view). Every airport is then color coded:
green: no problems, yellow: maybe some low fps, red: CTDs, black screens, etc.
So my workaround to prevent black screens was to fly from one “green” airport to another (even from “green” to “yellow”/“red” was fine). So what are the “red” ones? Just two airports where a little bit bigger in file size, but the majority of them are made by Just-Sim. For example, i replaced Just-Sim Hamburg EDDH with Simwings EDDH, which is twice the amount of Gigabytes. But the Simwings one is much more stable. So i don’t want to bash Just-Sim here, but something is wrong with theirs. And file size doesn’t matter (EDDH is less than a Gigabyte)
So there are three factors for me, that lead to CTDs, blackscreens, etc:
Too long flights
Scenery file size >2.5GB (?)
But most definitely: Airpots from certain Devs. Not because of its size/file size
Asobo is on a completely wrong track here, imo. It’s not just how much memory Xbox has to offer, but how developers will use that memory. As if some products use the memory excessively and in an unnecessary way. Instead of reducing the LOD, they should have a word with the devs, or maybe some guidelines for Xbox.
Now with SU15 it doesn’t matter any more. The game always looks bad here
I understand the willingness of friends to find a solution to this terrible bug. For me it doesn’t make sense to kill immersion to have better graphics. Eliminating one thing to obtain another doesn’t seem like a fair relationship to me, especially when we depend a lot of time and money on something that worked well for a long time but that, for some reason, was taken away from us and until now, we don’t even have a forecast of correction. I repeat again: the ideal solution is to implement the new GDK for Xbox.

Yeah thats how how mine was before i made some changes. I set my xbox at 4k 120fps as my tv supports it.
HDR ON
Multiplayer is Off
Live traffic on
Fauna zero
Cars zero
Aircraft density zero (i have the LVFR pack so no need for this)
Workers set ro 20
Rolling cache 100gb
Internet speed 40mbps
Runs sweet for me mate. Now finally.
My addons are under 100gb total also.
But even still as soon as multilayer is on all this goes out the window. Hopefully the next sim update will fix it?
I just fly with it off for now to get the performance.
This is how it looks this morning Sat 20th.
Its Amazing to be honest. West Europe server.
Okay I’m confused. My TV does 120hz but only at 1080p. So I changed the Xbox to output 1080p at 120 and the game was still running at 30fps.
I do however use motion interpolation to get the game running at 60fps at 4k and that is sweet. Lag is totally acceptable.
I’m still not sure how you are getting 120fps out of the game, maybe your monitor is making it look extra smooth or something but the base game is still kicking out 30fps
The monitor needs to be VRR compatible. In other words, you need a 120 hz monitor with freesync technology ( and be sure it works also on Xbox ). I’m doing nothing but turning on the VRR option on the Xbox graphic settings once i put the refresh rate at 120 hz. Here more info about it by Digital Foundry:
