Green flashing artefacts in VR in FS2024

Under VR mode in FS2024, I get green flashing lines strobing horizontally and vertically. It only happens in VR mode.

Hi @sthackrey ,

Thank you for this report. We’ve moved your topic into the User Support Hub.

The Bug Reporting Hub is for posting suspected or confirmed bugs that other users are able to reproduce without duplicating an existing bug report. Using the template or providing all the relevant information about your bug and sim setup is required in order to provide valuable information, feedback, and replication steps to our test team.

If you are not sure if your issue is a bug or need further input from the community, please use the User Support Hub category. If the community can replicate your issue, first search the Bug category to see if there’s an existing topic. If it already exists, contribute to that report. Duplicate bug reports will be closed.

If you believe it is a new report and no duplicate exists, then create a new bug topic using the provided topic template.

All issues caused by or involving third-party addons/mods should be reported to the third-party developer. Assure that no addons/mods are used when reporting issues in Bug Reports.

Same thing here. I thought my GPU or headset was dying. Definintely worse when using TAA. Happens much less when in DLSS (and it varies by mode, with DLAA being the worst for me). Also noticed it more in the A330 than other planes.

I’m having the same issue.
RTX4090 with latest drivers. It might be related to drivers as I updated today. Did not saw the issue yesterday.
Edit: with no AA the problem disappear

I am also using an RTX4090 testing both older and latest drivers. Its unusable in the current state for me especially at night. What headset are you using?

Its certainly a bug. If I have time I will submit a formal bug report. I ordered the pimax crystal light since WMR is no longer maintained. So will see if a different VR runtime will fix it.

When creating a topic in the Bug category, please:

  1. search if an existing one may already exist
  2. don’t delete the template, it is very important for the devs and other users that want to participate to it

I am using a Quest 3 (3080ti) via Virtual Desktop / 6e dedicated router. During daytime flights, I also noticed flickering light patterns on certain items in the cockpit. The green flashes are less noticeable in daylight. No changes I make to settings stop the flickering.

I am using a reverb G1. Flying right now with a friend that has a quest pro with 4090 and no issue

Me I did with A2A Comanche / Varjo Aero and I have the issue. I thought it was related to the Comanche, I have to test other planes.

Same issue here…. Like some strange artifact caused by the wing strobes, seen towards the bottom of the cockpit.

Same issue. Flashing at the bottom of the cockpit.

Pico4 with virtual desktop

Also seeing this, I guess this is the same flashing bug that has existed for ages in MSFS 2020. What is concerning is there is no way to disable bloom or switch to DX11 (this is the only way to fix it in MSFS 2020)

Is it possible to link this thread to this bug report? These are the artefacts that I am seeing.

There is no such functionality to link 2 topics together in that forum. What you could do is to edit your 1st post and add the link to that bug report so that other users seeing your topic could jump directly and participate there.

This is the same bug I reported here:
Flashing lights near bottom of field of view in VR . Shouldn’t this be in Bug Reporting and not User Support?

We do not want discussions in the BR category.
It makes the issue a lot harder to follow for the developers.
That’s one of the reasons that we require BR category entries to use the BR form template.

VR with a g2 reverb rtx3090 having this vertical greenyellow flashing light too … specially night /dark you see it so much that it is not possible to fly I did not have in MSFS 2020 .

I was also getting these lines. Messed about with settings. Try Not using TAA.
