The Gros Cap Reefs Lightstation is located in Canada near Sault Sainte Marie, in the Algoma region of Ontario. This 18-metre tower marks the point where the St. Marys River flows out of Lake Superior and is adjacent to Point Iroquois in Michigan. The lighthouse stands in shallow water on the south-western side of Gros Cap Reefs. It was first lit in 1953, and nearby stands the three-storey keeper’s house with a lattice tower. The antenna mast rises 72 metres above lake level. At the top was a ‘beacon’ in the form of an arrow painted red and white, pointing the way to Sault Sainte Marie Airport (CYAM).
Due to maintenance costs, it was dismantled. I have rebuilt it to make this mod more fun for helicopter pilots.
