Ground texture - Low resolution - Internet incorrect Bandwidth

In an effort to illustrate, compare, and gather who does or doesn’t have the problem, to which extent, how many differences and disparities there are from one person to another and the differences between people with or without teredo working, I’ve set up a quick protocol that I think could be useful so we can precisely troubleshoot ourselves.

copy/paste this destination in the world map search: 46°59’11.6"N 118°22’00.5"W
State your system and overall settings AND your resolution.
Is Teredo available or not?
Try to take the same pictures as me at the corresponding altitudes, using the same crops as a reference.
Here we go:

I7 4790K oc@4.6ghz, 16GB DDR3, SSD, GTX 1070, win10 1909
Teredo ON
Ultra, render scale 100, Terrain LOD 200, 1080p

I think that would be very useful if we could very precisely see all the disparities from one another this way.

If you think you have a problem in a specific area and not in general, go find the place on google mark, create a marker by clicking somewhere on the landscape and copy paste it here with your screenshots in MSFS so that we can replicate the situation and test it on our side.

Thanks

For those who are interested I highly recommend you use Reshade LevelPlus + DELC_Sharpen (at 400 to 500 setting) which does an excellent job at artificially bringing more details out of the textures at the cost of some grain but removing the overall blurriness of the scenery too. It’s night and day ingame IMHO

Here are the same shoots for comparison side by side:

Nine out of ten pass the test but one reoorts this: Test IPv6 large packet
bad (0.079s). Which gives me 1/10? How does that work? 9/10 reported ok.

I’m not sure of the significance of the “large packet” test. If 9 of 10 tests pass, I would think that (in general) IPV6 should work for you.

If your router or ISP did not support IPV6, then all of the tests would fail.

Okay. Thank you.

In patch 1.9.3.0 i still have 0B Data Consumption in settings even everything is enabled…

Thank you for your help, unfortunately my ISP does not provide ipv6 with my offer, and the test you provide fails. Sad story.

Im really about to give up

you have to press check again

I have teredo open but textures are still ■■■■

Hi all,

I’m also new to the MSFAS2020 and I have the same texture problems.

FS is running on following system:
R7 3700X
5700 XT
16GB DDR4 3600
512 GB m2 SSD

Settings are high @ 1080p
Xbox Live Multiplayer Status:
NAT-Type: open
Server connectivity: connected

Under data settings everything is enabled, no data limit. I have a 100mbit connection which gives me 88 - 95 mbit under real conditions. Also i am connected to the Microsoft servers.

Teredo Filter in Router ( Fritzbox7530) is deactivated
IPV6 test positive ( 10 of 10 )

Despite all that, FS is showing zero data consumption.
The ground scenery is just poor. Chicago looks like this…!Chicago

I tried everything ( Firewall, teredo settings, IPv6 ) but i have no idea why FS is not streaming any scenery.

Any help would be highly appreciated !

Kind regards,
Johannes

I have Teredo open too and since i have bought the game settings page says i have 0B Data Consumption, all online & streaming functions are enabled. Is this visual bug or i dont have Bing maps?

I have exactly the same problem. All online & streaming functions enabled, connection to Microsoft ok, Teredo and IPv6 are working but 0B data consumption. This results in extreme ugly or non existent scenery. Is it required to download Bing maps to make the streaming work ??

If you have native end-to-end IPV6 capability, (which you can verify by visiting the web site http://test-IPv6.com from a browser on your flight sim computer), you do not need Teredo.

Forcing Teredo on when IPV6 is already natively supported might actually make things worse in terms of being able to stream reliably from Microsoft servers.

I dont use IPv6. Teredo is connected and NAT is Open. All other functions like Multiplayer and Live Weather are working. Already tried changing Data Limit from 0 to 300-400GB - no difference.
And what’s the worst i dont think they even ackowledge this issue unless it will get 200 upvotes like this thread.

Do you not use IPV6 because your ISP does not support it, or because you simply don’t have it enabled in your computer networking settings?

If your computer can do end-to-end IPV6 directly, it is far preferable to use that instead of Teredo. Teredo introduces additional processing steps for each and every packet sent or received. The Teredo protocol was designed by Microsoft many years ago when native IPV6 support by ISPs was far less common than it is today. It was only intended to be a stopgap measure until IPV6 became more universally available. In fact, Microsoft wanted to start ending Teredo support as far back as 2014, which is why you specifically have to use registry or group policy edits to force it on. (Teredo is disabled by default on any new Windows 10 installation)

My ISP doesn’t support IPv6 natively, and i don’t think it’s required. When i was playing on GamePass copy my Data Consumption was tracked correctly. Now i have game directly from MS Store.

Ok, I disabled Teredo through CMD: netsh interface ipv6 set teredo disable

As a result Xbox network telling me:
Teredo can’t qualify, server connectivity blocked.

Rebooted PC and started FS. According to MSFS I am connected to a Server ( despite xbox network is blocked) but unfortunately no change, zero data consumption.

Ipv6 is availabe and working.

No idea what I could do else.

something probably stupid, but this worked for me a few days ago : have you just tried to log off / log on your xbox account ?
