Grumman AA-5 aircraft

Yes I fly a real Grumman. Flaps are a 3-position switch. Hold for extend, neutral, and locked up. The are called potato flaps because you count 1 potato, 2, potato, 3 potato. That gives you 1/3 flaps because the total time is to extend is around 9 seconds. I never look at the indicator because it is small and hard to see at night etc.
P.S. I’m sure that is just a local thing but you get the idea you could call them Mississippi flaps if you are more east coast
