I’m not sure is my subjective impression but I think some great changes happened to weather simulation. I’ve been doing bush leg and was bumpy Minor turbulence small gusts that were affecting aircraft. Like flying IRL piper in so called clear air. On approach same story a bit bumpy that required a little more work. Bush trips for me always were constant one direction wind and kind of maglev ride that only bump I could get was when I forgot to flare and RIP tyres. I moved to world map with real live weather and was even better. I went for a few patterns around EPPT. Almost clear sky 4 knots crosswind which before was nothing for a kodiak. This time though I had to fly crosswind not only steady crab or side slip with no sweat to touch down but I found my feet actually using rudder pedals. I don’t know if I missed this in release notes. Only I would like to say GREAT JOB Asobo
Actually looks to be thermal activity. If you have a real time wind direction/speed indicator in cockpit, you can see a light and variable wind swinging about all the time. Gives a nice sway/drift with actual bumps over ridges/slopes.
In the few aircraft I’ve tried it does feel quite nice
I had time only to test it with a kodiak. When will have a time I will play with different weather setups different temperatures and surface. Bush trip leg I flew yesterday was a Finland and was pretty flat but was close to coast. Was different over water and ground and different in clouds shadow. I flew real aircraft few years back when I had to postpone my PPL but from my memory that is big step closer to reality.
Clouds are awesome now. I need to check this with CRJ. Maybe superpowered ground effect got better and I will have less sapper precision work to put her nicely on touch down zone
