It is possible to land a helicopter onto the roof of all suitable photogrammetry buildings, but if one tries to do the same on buildings that are part of a handcrafted scenery, the helicopter sinks into the building as if the building were made of air.
I hope this can be fixed, it takes a lot of fun out of helicopter flying in handcrafted sceneries. If photogrammetry buildings can have a bounding box, handcrafted buildings should definitely have one too!
There is an old report but I think it is the way sim is designed for procedural buildings, so not really a bug. In order to land on a building, it must be hand crafted to allow structure detection.
Thanks for the feedback. If I understand your response correctly, it is the opposite of what I say. One can land on procedurally generated buildings, but not on handcrafted ones. Since we pay extra money for handcrafted ones, it would seem to me that they should be superior to procedurally generated ones. They are not when it comes to being able to land on them. So, I’m trying to appeal to scenery creators to make sure their products have bounding boxes, or for Asobo to procedurally generate bounding boxes for handcrafted scenery.
Well, based on my assumptions and own opinion: in order to land on a building, it can be either a photogrammetry building or handcrafted but it must includes a collision box. I would say not all those buildings have collision box, depends if the developers decided to include them or not. So it is case by case.
And I would assume that all procedural buildings don’t have collision box.
Hope it clarifies my comments .
