Help needed gatwick to heathrow ils

Hi, i have been trying to do a ils autopilot or co-pilot landing ( A320) gatwick to heathrow.
flight plan
depart gatwick runway 08r, arrive heathrow 27r
low altitude airways
departures IMVU1Z 08R
Arrivals BOVAID (all)
Approach ILS 27R
If i use co-pilot it flys out over southampton, english channel.
If i use Autopilot it does not follow waypoints and flys direct over heathrow, then keeps flying round in circles
I have done latest update 1.9.5
Can anybody tell me where i am going wrong please.

try doing nothing more than in the game menu just setting yourself to start at a gate or ramp at Gatwick then clicking the fly button, this will do the minimum requirement of placing you in the A320 at Gatwick.

then do ALL your planning directly in the MCDU, you can use the VFR map zoomed-in to find some fix points etc to link your departure to your arrival.

I would recommend, when you have set EGKK/EGLL in the INIT page and have done the other INIT pages stuff, to go to the flight plan page and insert at least one fix point giving 3 waypoint total in the flight plan page, once you have done this, you can then select the specific departures and arrivals.

yeh i agree i dont use the in-game flight planner just insert all the waypoints, SIDS, STARS in the MCDU

Thanks, does that mean that the autopilot does not work with the flight planner when you start up, and the co-pilot does not follow your flight plan, spent two weeks trying to get the above flight to work.

na in general the AP and ILS following is a bit hit and miss, hopefully this gets improved. I did an ILS into Luton earlier and the AP was left of course.

Same for heathrow, although before the updates all was fine

Since the update Ive done ILS into Bristol, Vienna, and Paris x2 eveytime since the update it has worked as it should… With the default A320 and Flybywire version

just installed flybywire latest, it followed waypoints and picked up ils but overflew heathrow runway then got lost

I’ll try now and i let you know mate

Reminded me of this:

Here you go guys, Gatwick 08R :joy:

Autoland is probably not a good idea at the moment!

nice one, i think i need a new co-pilot if anybody has one going spare, i have only got a learner

I made it, i used ifr and ils approach ignoring atc saying climb to 6000 feets, same runways ils worked smooth and good landing. I never use copilot.

I tried again with no luck, i video was with Co-pilot, second was with Autopilot

Any chance of making video start to finish and i can look at what you are doing please

Hey - do you know where I can find a good guide or video that explains how to do this? Thanks much

Hey! These videos are really good (by a real 320 pilot) Cheers
