This is exactly how it looks on mine too when it’s overcast.
Has anyone checked this issue in the new SU1 beta release 1.3.13.0 from today?
Can’t see anything about this in the (disappointingly short) patch release notes; not planning to reinstall beta if it’s not solved…
It has not been addressed, as far as I can see. Oh well.
Super disappointing, this is another blocker for public release. SU1 shouldn’t be out there until this is fixed.
I will absolutely stop playing the game immediately if this overdone HDR exposure and adaptive brightness makes it to release. I’m on the public build right now and it is absolutely fine, I really like it.
They need to fix this. The glass cockpit avionic get crazy bright and unreadable in vr. The avionics should not be getting get any dynamic exposure and should be static…
I find it hard to read the 737M screen and I’m not on VR
Yep issue still there.
Still loads of artificial brightness added to the cockpit at times, it’s like blinding bright inside the cockpit when it’s almost dark outside.
I think they are. It seems as if Asobo wants or thinks that we should see the world through a camera lens and not human eyes. Eyes do a much better job of handling dynamic range than do cameras.
SMH.
I don’t think they would be happy with it. It’s obviously not right but they’re priority systems with bugs seems…bizarre.
You’d think they’d fix the glaringly obvious stuff first but…
I’m pointing this because the bloom adjustments on the SU1 Beta made this
And MAYBE they should tweak it a little
This issue really bothered me to day departing out of a cloudy Atlanta:(
It is just not a good balance IMO. Looks absolutely fine in the public build, not sure why they want to make it so bright and punchy, it does not look realistic.
SU1 beta 1.3.19.0 of 19.02.2025 (today)… would anyone be so kind to check if it’s fixed so that I don’t have to install again just to check?
Just did a short check in the new 185…I think its plane/cockpit dependant, but the 185 looks okay-ish. Will try the Ford Trimotor during the day.
The problem is that it never really “adapts”. it just darkens/brightens a part of the screen when you do not need this. When it darkens your panel you are not able to read gauges and labels on it, what means that your eyes do not really adapt. In real flight you just move your point of view and your eye adapts withing a moment. Here, in the game, you can move your look-point along your screen as long as you can but you will see the same - a god picture of what you see through the windshield and dark and non-readable instrument panel, for example. To read the gauges in the sim you have to move your look point in a way that you see only the panel. This happens since 2020. And in 2024 they have added the problem with exposure for glass cockpits - sometimes they are too bright and sometimes they are too dark - it is like the gauge automatically changes its brightness - and you can not change that brightness.
Few pictures
- My “look-point” is on the panel
- Looking through the windshield
- Try to read the GPS screen
- Can you read your airspeed and other gauges?
- And if you turn your head?
Don’t know if anyone noticed, but with Sim Update 1 the screen is noticeably brighter, like the gamma setting was altered. With sunny weather and no clouds the scenery and cockpit can be almost washed out. I have to set clouds to overcast to look a bit normal. I didn’t change my monitor settings, I use RTX 3070 and DLSS.
A simple gamma slider in the settings would be good!
See here, many noticed:
Are you sure Dynamic Vibrance hasnt been turned on by default? Sometimes happens to me. If so just turn it off and everything goes back to normal
