I’ve ordered it now too, mainly for cosmetic purposes, it looks nice on the throttle quadrant and I’m hoping the tactile feel will be more immersive as well. Seems crazy that postage is almost as much as the item but there were no other options so got it anyway.

No, it would not have any affect on the performance and input into the sim. You need to use a third party to be able to map it to an axis and have it perform better. I wrote a thread on it.
And it looks like they have released a new bundle with the profiles already in it.
I printed my own up on my 3D printer. Works great!!
