Honeycomb bravo throttle, delayed again for me

:rofl::rofl: That statement just made my week haha!

To think you can just re-task a textile factory to make consumer electronics, both quickly and affordable, is beyond optimistic.

The time taken to re-invest in equipment & tooling, and train employees from scratch would already stretch to years. Any you thought they had production difficulties now, when it’s done by the consumer electronic experts..

It’s a nice utopian ideal, but unfortunately completely removed from reality.

Before I say anything else, I’m well aware of perspective and that there’s slightly more important things going on in the world, however, did Amazon really not know about this FURTHER delay until now? I pre-ordered it a year and 10 days ago!

Week 4 here and received my shipment notice this morning. Currently in Hong Kong.

If you have the time and patience, try following this live stream and chat:

These folks are actually really helpful. They send audio alerts when stuff comes in stock, and the people in the chat share links with stuff they’ve found. Usually there are a few chances each day to grab something, but you have to be quick, so setup your Newegg and Amazon accounts in advance, and keep the tabs with the products open in your browser.

I ordered a 3090 a couple days ago from New Egg, and it arrives today. Took me maybe 4 or 5 days of monitoring that feed and a few failed attempts, but if you keep trying you’ll definitely get one. 3090s are even a little easier to get. It’s the 3080 that’s the hardest to come by.

Edit to stay on topic: Meanwhile ,I’ve also put in an order for the Bravo backordered on Adorama. Hopefully that was the right move. I guess I can just cancel it if I find one in stock before that processes.

Of course there are more important things, but in this context Amazon have completely lost the plot with their clients. No information, stock checklist answers when you call them and a complete lack of appreciation of the frustration caused .I can only suggest you keep the order on with them, but only as a possible but remote back up and order with an official retailer for your region

Norman, the production facility does not need clean rooms, no heavy machinery maybe some injection plastic molding machines, which could be farmed out to any company in USA which can do it, and trust me, thousands of plastic molding machine companies, I know I worked in one. Some metal stamping and some electronic circuit board, and all that hooked together. I would wager, the whole production facility can be assembled in 90 days, since building has power, water, etc. already inside. Just open space to fill with the necessary equipment. How many workers do you think the current place has 100, 200, not more than that. So yes, it’s something which could be done. Remember money talks and BS walks, so, it’s all about the money, and no other reason, it costs them 50 to assemble in china per unit, it would cost maybe 125 if here, (remember shipping costs inside all that would be less if USA) still excellent profit margin, so they raise price to 299, still bargain. I am much more amendable to purchase USA or even European products instead of Chinese made products. Which is why my rudder pedals will be Virpil, and if can afford Yoke from Yoko, (again made in Europe I think) then more amiable to me. IF every USA person bought only USA made stuff, we would not have employment issues today, everyone looks to the cheapest price not the best quality or to keep Americans working. Charity begins at home.

I think the solution to the world’s economic problems and inequities is not as simple as this. We’re not supposed to be discussing politics on the forum but I’m not sure we’d want to still be supporting the blacksmiths of the world or insist on eating only VERY locally grown food (grown only in the vicinity of your community…)- complex problems require sophisticated solutions that balance many inequities and perhaps it’s safe to say that no solution is ever perfect. I hope that we all keep trying to make the world better for all - not just ourselves.

Very good comment.
And now back to TQ or CY discussion. In another thread on this subject, a video was referenced from ā€œAlmost Aviationā€ on YouTube. He goes into very deeply how the TQ/FY’s are not to blame on buttons which behave erratically. Search for that thread or Video. He is very detailed in all his investigations on various FS hardware. Plus, he has one of the most detailed cockpits going, which he put together and believe it covers all the various planes in MSFS/FSX/X-Plane, but don’t quote me on that. Suffice to say, it’s not HC’s products which don’t work, it’s the sim’s implementation on how it determines what buttons do. I don’t know if the drivers ā€œset being developed by HCā€ is going to fix this, based on video, believe sim implementation needs to change.

Take a look at this… it’s a perfect explanation of what is going on with the Honeycomb (and others) products:

I ordered my unit in September 2019 via Aerosoft. Yesterday the package arrived. Now itĀ“s under the christmas tree…

Probably you are going to get my order from Aerosoft (I ordered the Bravo on the 2nd of September) before me. I’m in a conflict it them because they did that with me before: TCA airbus pack (ordered in August) back in October. I was reading that everyone received them in Oct. and one guy posted on Twitter he had problems with Amazon, then made his order with Aerosoft in Oct and received the TCA pack a few days later. I wrote them about that they sent me the Throttle (one that have been used - I could see by they away it was packed - did not complain about that) they told me they would return the money and I’m waiting until now after several months of emails that they don’t under. I ordered the Stick from a Barcelona shop that I received I week after. So with a Aerosoft my perception is if things go well ( and I’ve paid them around 1000€ In several products) it is good when it goes wrong you have a problem…it’s is not about the 63€ I paid for a product I’ve never received it is about this principle.

Not getting mine till February sometime

My throttle quadrant has now arrived in Australia - hopefully it exits the port ASAP so it can be shipped to my house!

I pre-ordered mine on 7/4 and was originally told September timeframe, so it’s all a waiting game. I’ll be looking forward to hopefully have mine by NYE.

Got an email from the supplier and in looking at mid jan 2021 now which in fine about its only another few weeks

Mine has just been shipped from the retailer! Expecting it around the new year period.

I’m in the week 4 pre order and I got my tracking today. Estimated delivery 1/6.

I am in week 5 - got a tracking number, shipped 22 Dec - weird thing though, they say won’t be delivered until 05 Jan though I am only 4 days away UPS Ground. And it is on the truck in transit. Hoping that is just a window and it will come Tuesday or Wednesday.

Without wishing to boast my Bravo is currently being transported to my local post office which means I should see it either tomorrow or Wednesday. Can’t wait!

Was Just notified by HC mine is shipping and is currently assigned tracking number, and should be here in couple weeks. They are using FEDEX, and they are hauling vaccine so many products are on hold because of that. My new JS/Base has been sitting in Paris, France since 19th of December, and has not moved since then. I called vendor, but have not received a response yet. Eventually they all will arrive. Will advise.
