Horrible stuttering, FPS drops at airports, during landing

I’m still experiencing issues as well. The bug spray did not reach all of us as usual. Do we evacuate and fumigate the entire office or what?

for me, the panning stutters are mostly gone and the same goes for takeoff (most of the time) but they do to come back a few minutes later and I have to keep clearing my cache before launching the game for it to stay playable…
but unfortunately the landing stutters are still present.

Its real bad for me too

On my end, it seems to happen most often with complex payware sceneries. It also happens with the default Asobo ones, just not as badly.

No mods, vanilla install, same very low FPS on take off and landing. Get 100ft in the air and it’s much better (not great, still issues but nowhere near as bad as on the ground).

Various planes at big, medium and small airfields.

This must be fixed in SU4.

Same here - really bad on landings. It even looks like the runway texture get’s blurry and reloads.

Runway textures unloading and reloading right in front of our eyes happens to me quite a bit and is absolutely baffling. Surely when something is loaded it should stay loaded and yet it doesn’t

Xbox series X

This is also when the stutters happen, when stuff loads and then unloads.

SU3 has been unplayable for me. Massive stutters all of the time.

9800X3D / 4070, ran some benchmarks to rule out a hardware issue and it’s definitely not the hardware. Also completely reinstalled the game, wiped all the folders, issue still there.

The right one is from the settings menu…

I’ve been fortunate that I’m only seeing a couple frames drop and main thread only go up a few ms, but annoying none the less. Nice find about hovering the mouse of the dev menu. Can at least finish the roll out and then finish the flight lol.

Has anyone tested whether this issue persists in the SU4 Beta?

The issue is solved for me in SU4 beta

Reduced a lot but still there.

This issue is sadly still there for me in SU4 but after landing on the rollout. Usually happens about 1/2 way down the runway, maybe when closer to more scenery dense parts of the airport are loading in (from an LOD perspective). I also see a brief stutter about half way down the runway on takeoff roll, again when closest to denser airport buildings and AI traffic. In SU4 I have more FPS in general when launching in at the gate, but after landing my FPS on rollout can still drop to 18 (no FG) from 26-28 on approach. It doesn’t recover very well either after taxiing off the runway. My test case is landing at Ini’s 2024 EGLL, but I’ve seen it happen elsewhere too.

Got the same bug even since SU3 and has moved over to SU4B

i know before su3 i was getting great frames. now it is to unplayable on my end to the point i have not tryed till to after a navida update yesterday i installed no change. starting to regret spending over hundred dollars for this!!!

Its looking better now at the BETA. Way better than before. Getting a solid 30+ fps without frame gen, also landing without major stutters.

Right I’m going to insist on 2020, better perfomance and addons like ChasePlane and PMDG 737.

I mostly get stutters AFTER touch down, when rolling down the runway. I found out that this is caused by two reasons or a combination of bboth. I my case it has absolutely nothing to do with graphics or sim settings. It just caused by extensively slowing down the plane, no matter if done by manual braking, autobrakes or reverse thrust. And actually it is NOT a stutter it is an illusion of a stutter, i.e the plane slowing down erratically, i. e. decelearting, not decelerating, decelerating, not decelerating etc. etc.

The above said is fact, at least on my MSFS 2024 installation and it became worse during the past two weeks, for whatever reason. The second reason is not fully proven but I have the imprssion that uneven runways, e. g. both at EGLL, especially 27R/09L, which is more like a rollercoaster in the sim (even with Inibuilds version), amplify the effect described above.

Give it try, do not slow down your plan in any way after landing, just let it roll down the runway and you will see. But beware, sometimes, just before the plane comes to a complete stillstand, there will still be some “stutters”.

Can confirm it its very stuttery after the aircraft touches down and rolls out in MSFS 2024. Fenix into Bilbao.

Just updated to SU4. Fenix from ini Manchester to ini Heathrow. 50fps (limited) on the ground, drops to 30 in places taxiing. Smooth in flight, 45-50fps down to 50ft, drop to 25 at 30ft, on rollout it drops as low as 5fps and during the whole taxi in. Dropped the LOD prior to the flight and its made no difference.

Very high VRAM usage upon landing but it wouldnt go away. Did the opposite flight the other day. 40fps on the ground at Heathrow, 10fps max at Manchester after landing.

No idea where to look at it settings wise, as surely it cannot be related to graphics as its fine the rest of the flight and the start of the flight no matter which airport. This has been a problem since I built my new PC 9800X3D, 64gb 6000mhz CL30, 3080ti founders, installed on a gen 5 drive.
