How do I block other Members?

Just having a bit of trouble with another member. Unless anyone else would like to chastise me, would someone be kind enough to tell me how to block others?

I have clicked on there name and see no option?

Ty.

Itā€™s buried, but thereā€™s an ignore list in preferences under the users section.

You can click on your icon in upper right corner, go to ā€œpreferencesā€/notificationsā€œ/ā€œusersā€œ and can mute or ignore. Thatā€™s about as close as you can get.

Ninjaā€™d. Iā€™m getting slow!

You can just ignore them, you have that power, ignoring the bullies takes away their power.

But hitting ignore feels way better!

Thatā€™s really helpful for me. TY I tend to get target often because of my posts. Not because my posts are contentious in nature, but because either my waffling or lack or my learning difficulties are too much to read. Iā€™m not saying Iā€™m not opinionated or not prone to whine.

Smiles. Sometimes I just have to ask things my own way in order to even formulate my question which typically only evolves into a solution through open and mutual discussions. I understand the need for order and do my best to keep my thread titles relevant and so on and so forth.

However - being forced or having my queries constantly reduced to " in future please use the FAQ ā€¦ " Itā€™s hard enough when moderators do it, let alone other members.

Forgive me. I mean not to go on.

I had actually just finished formatting another thread question regarding:
Graphics Settings. Performance Vs Gloss?
I would of loved to discuss hardware, hints and tips as they related to myself and of course other people perspective in a fresh thread of my own making which would of gone a long way to helping me understand.

Not being allowed or regularly criticized for asking a question that was already formulated by another person at another time ā€¦ well ā€¦ there is just so many limitations to that kind of control.

I think itā€™s best I stop asking questions. Iā€™m not trying to play the victim card here. I have a diagnoses on a welfare benefit for Adult Autism. Although itā€™s only mild I do have genuine needs to process differently. Usually more text and perhaps donā€™t understand things as quickly as most. Some things quicker actually. Art any rate, itā€™s hard enough trying to throw all the eggs into one basket regardless of how ā€˜normalā€™ we may all be considered or not. Iā€™ve tried hard in the past to be a respectful member of forums, but just getting tired of all the criticism I come under for my threads.

Iā€™m grateful for the replies. I love the flight sim hobby itself. I will not give that up. I have only just come into a time that I can truly experience it. Not just because of the tech and advances (although that helps) but more so having more money to build up slowly and the time is all.

At any rate ā€¦ I appreciate that not everyone is a control freak. srry could not help it. At least others con ignore me as well. :+1:t2: I just go an invite to the Discord channel ā€¦ so there is always that as well. hehe chuckles to think another set of feature I must learn with respect to ignore as well.

arrrr this was good actually. We all need our space and the freedom in which to speak. Iā€™ll get over it in due course. I guess Iā€™ve been a little overwhelmed with taking on so much in a short time. But ā€¦ then you just get people that thrive on pointing the finger. Enough said. Sorry for wall of text.

Happy Flying Guys ā€¦ & again thanks for the help! :orange_heart:

I think you have to be at TL1 for ā€œIgnoreā€. Until then, can only ā€œMuteā€. Unless it changed?

I think youā€™re rightā€¦ I seem to remember another discussion about that, now that you mention it. Oopsā€¦ didnā€™t mean to mislead anybody! :v:

Working on it. Your so right.

Hi guys, I muted a member. Does it mean that I will continue to see his posts? Do we need a TL level to block someone? I donā€™t want to see his posts.

Just be careful to check each thread before you post. The OP might be someone on your ignore list. Always check the OP image/name. I wonā€™t even waste electrons on them.

Yes you can end up seeing posts originated by the muted/blocked. See my answer above this one.

Thanks, so this forum has no option to block a person (donā€™t see his posts anymore)?

Middle-click on their icon (or right click, open new tab) then

Change Normal (upper right corner) to Ignore and set a time-limit - all the way to permanent.

The offender could still appear in threads that you may be on, but their content will be masked and the placeholder ā€œIgnored Replyā€ or ā€œIgnored Contentā€ appears in its place.

I only have an option to mute it. I donā€™t know if this will only block notifications. letā€™s see.
