How do I enable auto centering of yoke when using keyboard?

Hi,

I just started with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2023. I try flying Boeing 747-8i

I control yokes with numpad on keyboard. But when I turn to left or right, the yoke isn’t auto-centered. E.g. when I turn to right, I have to press left button too.

Is there a way to make yokes auto-center when playing with keyboard?

I found some guides online for how to do it using PC yokes or joysticks, but not for keyboards.

I haven’t flown MSFS with the keypad but have you tried pressing key 5 to return the yoke to center. Even so, if you start a right turn with key 6, you’ll need to counter the turn with a left turn command with key 4 to get the plane flying straight. I recommend your very first purchase be a yoke or flight stick. Makes it much more enjoyable.

Yeah, if you think you’ll keep flying (and who wouldn’t?), get a joystick; my very first one was very simple, no buttons, no hat switch, not even a throttle. One like that will be cheap as chips and it’ll start you off.

Ok, thank you. Is there a key on keyboard to return the yoke to center vertically?

Try pressing 5 on numpad on keyboard. or have a look at settings/control keyboard and see what key is assigned to centring controls. It just not yoke, I think centres everything from rudder/alerion/elevator

And as others have recommended get a joystick - some good cheap ones are available on amazon if you are on budget. The real fun is when you are flying it with actual stick rather then keyboard.

The Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick is extremely affordable and works very well.
