How hold landing pattern properly

I’m a newbie here my name is Pawel (Paul in English  )

bought myself especially for the new Game Pass flight simulator from M$

m Polish

I have been flying simulators since I was a small child and my friend gave me one of the first flight simulators from Microsoft as a gift, back then I was under the MS-DOS system, I was poor but I got my first computer from my richer aunt, I remember what the problems were to configure the computer to start simulator, because Mr. Gates said that 640 KB of RAM memory should be enough for everyone

I love planes but I can’t afford a real pilot course because I have Asperger (but asymptomatic like COVID-19 xD)

And in my childhood I suffered from epilepsy after an accident, of which there is no trace of it, according to my internist, it may have been the so-called Rolandic epilepsy which is not dangerous, but as far as I know it is a disqualification for the ULC (Urząd Lotncitwa Cywilnego) Polish Civil Aviation Authority (ULC/CAA)

Although in one Polish forum for aviation enthusiasts and pilots, one user who says that he has ATPL licenses in real life says that I do not have to tell the whole truth to those ■■■■■■■■ from ULC, they only know what I write them in the medical questionnaire, for the EASA health certificateSo far, I have a problem with the holding pattern above the airport, it is terribly bad to fly the simulator on the keyboard.

I mean I have problem with holding pattern in last turn on in game general aviation flight school

Anyway I think I landed better than Harrison Ford xD

Anybody watching Captain Joe channel on YouTube

There are a few first steps to take to ensure you aren’t getting any problems from the sim itself.

With the sim running, if you are on the start up screen, from the top heading, select “Options”, or if you are already in the sim, press “ESC” on the keyboard.

  • Under “General”
Set “Flight Model” to “Modern”, not “Legacy”.
  • Under “Assists”
Set all “Piloting” assists to “Off”
  • When you are in the sim, from the “winged” sim icon, Open AI Control (icon to the right of the yoke icon), and ensure that “Control Aircraft” is “Off” (button placed to the left).

When you confirm that all this correct, and if you’ve still got the problem, let us know.

Hi Pawel. First thing you should do is simply ditch the keyboard and get yourself a joystick. Even a really cheap one will help people fly or bring down the difficulty quite a bit compared to fly by keyboard. Remember, this isn’t Star Trek.

Second, forgive me because of the language barrier here. Do you mean the traffic pattern? Because a holding pattern is definitely not the same thing.

I mean circling the airfield offcourse before landing

I remember when we used to play a flight simulator, with my friend and his 12-year-old nephew on PS1 was a bit of a mischief but a good kid, now he is an adult, but he could not understand why the pilots dive the plane when they happened to drag the plane, very much buddy we had fun how this little rescale wants to fly in the simulator right away without even listening to the basics of aerodynamics  it was very nice to watch him crash a ■■■■ Cessna on runway ;-), , I wonder if there will ever be Polish PZL - WILGA or PZL-Dromader (plane for cropduster) or whether it will be possible to be a flight controller like the FSX one day?

Forgive me English users Google Translate
To make it faster

Ha, ha!
I thought you were having a problem with the simulator!!! :upside_down_face:

I think I would have laughed if I was with you watching him as well.

I think you will probably see both planes, but it will be later than sooner I suspect, and from some third party plane maker, not ASOBO.
They are fairly popular planes in the sim community and would go well with the visuals in the sim.
You could actually simulate cropdusting with the Dromader!

Are you referring to a flight planner?

Here’s the FAA Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM) that explains the traffic patterns. I’m sure you’ll have to use translation to help understand it. Let us know if you still don’t understand.

I do not know what you mean? As for the PZL-Dromader agrarian planes, they were reportedly Poland’s export hit under communism, apart from rye vodka  thanks to them, the government of communist Poland obtained foreign currency. Although allegedly under communism you could have flight training for the PPL license practically for free, at least that’s what I heard. To make it funnier, these Dromader planes were equipped with the American Rockwell Thrush Commander star engine obtained thanks to a special bilateral agreement between Poland and the USA because as we were then a communist country, NATO restrictions on the exchange of the so-called dual-use technology were in force, dromedaries are used by the aviation section of the Polish National Fire Services to extinguish area fires, such as forest fires, and the PZL-wilga is reportedly used by Russian pilots in distant Siberia, as well as by Americans from Alaska and Canadians for bush flights due to its short take-off and landing distance. I wonder if I would like to become a pilot seriously, whether I have to confess to a doctor for the entire life or for the last 10 years during medical examinations for the pilot’s license, in Poland the our Urząd Lotnictwa Cywilnego Civil Aviation Authority ULC/CAA is responsible for this, which is our equivalent of the American FAA, let’s take it in my childhood I was diagnosed I have epilepsy and I have Asperger’s Syndrome, but I am highly functional, asymptotic like COVID - 19  nobody would say that I have it, certain Forum members on the Polish forum for aviation enthusiasts, wrote to me that I do not have to be a sucker and tell ULC the whole that guy had CPL license, and my GP told me that maybe it was the so-called Rolandic epilepsy very common for smsll kids that she is not an aviation medicine examiner, but she read somewhere that people who have the opportunity to obtain aero-medical examinations class 2 or even class 1 EASA that it would be good do a PET scan, but it’s better to do it privately than at the National Health Fund, as if it hadn’t been shown no serious changes in the gray matter structure of the brain, it might be better not to say that I had epilepsy because what does it have to do with my current health condition when I am 34 years old with a disease that I had as a 13 year old, but that I should not refer to it personally that She advises me to do this because she might lose her own license, medical license to practice medicine xD

I have Xbox pad but it’s had some glitches when I try to use it Xbox pad would better than keyboard.

My nephew has Asperger’s syndrome, he is doing reasonably well, he actually went to university, got a degree and then went to acting school to try and become an actor.

It is always better to be truthfull, as much as it hurts.
If you weren’t and something bad happened while you were flying, and your secret came out, you would be in an awful lot of trouble legally. It would ruin your life.
I am colorblind, so my hopes of becoming a commercial pilot were squashed many years ago.
I can still dream though, and that is why I love flight simming.

Folks on this site can probably help you with the Xbox pad glitches, just give us a good explanation of how, what, and when this happens.
It isn’t uncommon.

Good Luck!!

Thanks I wonder why i cannot add links to yo youtube, does is because I’m newbie here

“Sorry, you can’t include links in your posts”

Yes, you get more abilities the more you use the forum.

Someone told me that I could always get certification to be a “flight dispatcher” because there are no such stringent medical requirements as for aviation licenses, I used to think to become an air traffic controller at the Civil Aviation Authority of Poland, i.e. CAA/Urząd Lotonictwa Cywilnego mentioned above not just as hated by Polish aviation enthusiasts, as the FAA by the American one, air traffic controllers are said to earn more than LOT Polish Airlines pilots and much more than RyanAir pilots

But apparently, the pressure on the control is gigantic and they have the same medical requirements as the pilots.

Supposedly, the requirement for traffic controllers in Poland is a perfect knowledge of both Polish and English, and the recommended knowledge of German at the basic level, and perfect pronunciation in Polish and English (a necessary condition)

Yes, flight dispatcher could be interesting.
You certainly have a good knowledge of English already!
We have medical requirements for ATC controllers as well here in Canada.

My mother’s friend immigrated to Canada because he had a further family there, when communism ended in Poland in the late 1980s, I just don’t know which city, whether it was Montreal or Quebec

I have to ask him by e-mail because I used to correspond with him regularly.

You write that you have color blindness, like Fox Mulder from the X-Files

I wonder what it is like with neurological ailments, because I had a known epilepsy but I did not have large seizures, my doctor told me that she is not an aviation medicine doctor but she thinks that maybe I had so-called Rolandic epilepsy, which in her opinion does not disqualify flying, that maybe I was also misdiagnosed, that I would have to go to a Neurologist, to send me for a PET scan, to find out if there are any brain micro-injuries, that maybe I would even have a chance for an EASA class 1 medical  examination, but I have to lose weight because I have a problem with insulin resistance and I am in danger of having developing full-blown type 2 diabetes, which is also a disqualifying condition from flying.

By the way, I am also interested in astronomy and astronautics, I also play in the Kerbal Space Program, once I dreamed of being an Astronaut, in my case it would be ESA, because I am a Pole, i.e. a European, and Poland has recently been a full member of ESA since 2011

I once said that it is said that I have an elevated IQ, although not Genius IQ, a little above 100, I thought what would happen if I returned to university, I have a BA in Librarianship, what would happen if I did a master’s in computer science now (now trying to learn Python programming) and could apply to ESA during the next recruitment of astronauts, somehow managed to pass the medical examinations, and then qualify as a Mars mission commander, I could call them from MARS then tell all these doctors from Mars, but I fooled you all, I would be like the Illuminati, tin foil man believe that the Illuminati are telling us subliminal what they are going to do and we “sheep” can do nothing about it

My doctor laughed at it, she told me that she believed in me, but that her colleagues, aviation medicine doctors, simply wanted flying to be safe for aviators and people on the ground, and after consulting a neurologist, psychologist and Perhaps an endocrinologist could send me letters of recommendation to our Polish Civil Aviation Authority that they see no obstacles for me to be able to safely exercise the rights and obligations resulting from aviation licenses, that I could also lie, but if they catch me it will be a shame and maybe later I would have more difficulty to convince the Polish Civil Aviation Authority that I can be trusted

Since you Canadian what do you think about this mam
Chris Hadfield’s Space Kitchen

Chris Hadfield: Space Oddity

I live in Atlantic Canada, about .5 km from the Atlantic Ocean.
It is about a 10 hour drive to Quebec City, and about 13 hours to Montreal from here.
I would go through the process of the examinations myself.

Chris Hadfield is a great example of a dedicated astronaut.
So is this guy:
