How large is your MSFS 2020 installation?

Mine is reaching around 850 gb (on a 1 TB ssd) . I´m running out of space. Looking forward to MSFS 2024, because it´s supposed to be less demanding concering hard disc space.

Or does it make sense to exchange the hard disc before installing MSFS 2024? What do you think or expect?

is most of the 850GB not your add-ons? My base sim (without my community folder) is about 120 GB, so 2024 won’t mage a significant difference to my drive usage. I have about 270GB worth of add-ons at the moment, and i can only see that increasing.

I do have tons of addons, that I´ve installed over the years. I think I´ll have to check what I can deinstall. But with every WU and SU the demand for hard disc space rises.
Every update seems to include a lot of things I don´t need. I guess I have some cleaning up to do.

Currently at 1,084 Gb in size.Sim and Addons.

Wow, that‘s a ton of data!

My Addons_Linker folder is 316 GB. It’s on a 1 TB SATA SSD.
I use this drive for video captures as well.

The sim itself is 576 GB on a 2 TB PCIe NVMe drive.

So, 892 GB total.

Just done a complete re-instal for the first time and once I’d completed it came to just over 198GB. I think the basic SIM comes to about 120GB, but there are loads of added content, a lot of which I’ve removed, which seems to have helped the load times a little.
I have all my 3rd party add-ons, about 1.5TB, on a separate SSD organised with Add-ons Manager.

340 GB. Standard edition, all world & city updates, no addons.

~2.5 TB with all addons and updates.

whatever he said

2,5 TB??? Are there that many add ons you can buy??? I thought my collection of add ons was nearly complete! :joy:

Yes I was a big content consumer.
For the first 3 years I was spending hundreds of dollars on addons each week,
I fly in a lot of group flights, and I always made sure to buy the scenery we’d flying at. I also focused on buying all addons for certain regions, such as South America, Africa, and South East Asia. As well as the correct liveries for every airline.

In the end it just all adds up.

Mine is at 898GB currently…

Do you fly on PC as well? For some reason I was under the impression you were on XBOX, and MSFS hasn’t been available on XBOX for 3 years yet.

All in (Install / Mods)

1.8TB.

My version is Premium Deluxe DVD Edition, available since August 2020.
From original 120GB it become 387GB with all updates.
Community folder is less then 50GB (of which 35GB of AI models) because I put in only what is needed for the fligth I plan.

When I assembled the PC for MSFS I installed a 2.5" HotSwap cage so I could dedicate a 1TB SSD just for MSFS.
When MSFS 2024 comes out I will install it on a new SSD with Windows 11 installed from scratch.
In the second HotSwap I inserted another SSD where I keep the addons that will be available for both SIMs.
I will just have to choose which SSD to boot with.
I was afraid that over time, continuing to insert and remove the SSDs from the HotSwaps might create some problems, but up to now everything has worked perfectly.
I would add that SATA SSDs perform less well than NVMEs but this has never caused me any problems with MSFS.

Sources say it was released on Xbox July 2021. If not, its real close to that.
And yes now I have no choice but to sim on a PC because MSFS is nearly unplayable on Xbox.

PC version … 399GB total, including 6.5 gb in community.

My sim is on a dedicated 1TB SSD taking up 653GIG of which 321GIG is the size of my Community folder.
Therefore the core sim is a total of 332GIG and I don’t have all sceneries or aircraft installed.
