How often does the Xbox Marketplace update?

Marketplace for xbox is an absolute joke!!
Thinking about selling xbox and buying a pc,

Sure is. Dziewiecki Design (scenery dev) announced recently that the marketplace team told them it now takes up to 16 weeks to approve a product on Xbox. That’s 4 months! As I can recall, they originally said 2-3 weeks at the end of July. Clearly MS/Asobo are in no rush here.

At this point it seems like a reasonable choice. Today I decided to bring my old PC to life and did a flight on FSX with the FSLabs A320. Even if the graphics aren’t good, the flight felt great because flying the default A320 gets boring really quick. Any more of this, and I’ll be selling my XSX and getting a £1,000+ PC just so I can get addons without the marketplace. And of course, for the freeware FBW. Eventually I’ll do that.

Considering this myself. Bypassing the marketplace completely.

One of my airports I bought on PC quite some time ago was transferred to Xbox today. So the same result as last week.

Am I being unreasonable by asking why it takes so long? It would be a big help to understand why.

so maybe one should ask for approval before even starting the development, then it will be released timely.

This reminds me of former East Germany, where people ordered a car when their child was born so they had it delivered when the child became 18 and had a driving license.

Well here people put their children on a waiting list for preschool child care several years before they are born.

If the jokes about the marketplace become classics like Reagan’s about the legendary waiting times in communism, the marketplace is at least good for something.

No aircraft but was happy to see one landmark marketplace content. This week is a bit weak.

This week? There is always a new low so yes, in comparison with last week this one is a bit weak.

One question → The store page of the okavango delta states that a map and brochure can be found in a subfolder of the installation. As we can not access any folders on xbox, isn’t that a clear and blatant case of false advertisement?

We need more livery for each aircraft. I am willing to pay for authentic livery in the marketplace.

I doubt you will ever see authentic liveries on the market, I don’t think MS is willing to pay for the licenses cost it would entail.

More reasons for me to buy a PC.

There is an Idea I’ve seen someone come up with that could be a good alternative. Why not have a graphic artist/s actually create a host of high quality pretend airliner company liveries? Could be an ongoing process where new ones are created and released monthly or whatever as updates, of course this will be payware as this can’t be expected as free. My workaround idea is to do what Rockstar Games have done with GTA, create parodies of real brands. Enough of a difference in detail and naming to void any copyright claims.

So “Air Transylvania” and “Untied Airlines - Fly Untied” . Stuff like that?

Exactly. Some examples from GTA being the Comet, which is a spin on a Porsche 911 Turbo, Coquette being a Corvette, Banshee being a Dodge Viper. There’s a brand called Fruit in it which is clearly meant to be Apple and uses what looks like a Peach as their logo. I dunno what to call it, surrealist? Parallel Alternate Dimension versions of real brands. Of course they’re gonna have to be PG rated to make it eligible for the marketplace but can still be made funny and even hopefully in good taste at the same time.
