I think it’s a very worthwhile and promising aircraft in general worth the purchase. I just haven’t had consistent performance starting new flights with the CRJ. Some flights it will spawn in on runway all systems go and ready for take off. Sometimes it spawns without engines turned on but the electronics are. Other times it will spawn in completely dark in the cockpit and I have to manually start it from cold on the run way. The load times are much longer even after first flight in both models.
Maybe it was meant to be started at a gate instead of just spawn in on runway every time . If you want to just spawn in and take off with it, I have had mixed performance. Once I learn how to tackle the FCS system a little more I think I will have a much more enjoyable experience.
In terms of FPS I haven’t had much of a difference in performance compared to flying a plane such as the 787.
two thumbs up so far. having minor issue with throttle but otherwise performing well. i dont have exact fps #s but it is smooth enough for me. i fly on a recent laptop so i dont expect 60fps.
What’s hard to fly about it? Flies like a dream, and super responsive compared to larger aircraft. Hell a CRJ 550 doesn’t even outweigh an F/A-18, plus centerline thrust and not too floaty if you fly it at the calculated reference speeds.
Are you folks able to get simple buttons like the wipers to work? Or the lighting ones next to it. I can get my display lights to dim but not brighten.
I seem to have read somewhere that this aerosoft plane uses Navigraph. I have a subscription for Navigraph. Does that mean that I can bring up approach plates and other charts on the little laptop inside the cockpit on my left? That would be a big plus for me, since I use VR… does anybody know how to bring charts up inside the cockpit…
Overall I am having a great time. VR works really well with the CRJ. I have the Reverb G2 and it looks really good and the cockpit provides a unique experience. The displays are readable, and the zoom in feature is nice when you need it. I don’t have any mouse issues, and I find all the buttons pretty easy to click including the EFB. I flew KLAS to KSFO, FPS smooth the entire way, practiced some holds, and did a full ILS approach. The cabin view is a nice bonus too
Even though - as an avid Airbus Simmer - it is quite stressful to keep track of the speed an Vertical guidance all at once. The AP sometimes still puzzles me a bit.
But all in all, I love it due to the variety it gives the Sim.
Anyone having issues when choosing ILS RWY from FMS? Two flights so far and both times when selecting ILS RWY for Approach it locked MSFS completely up. Everything else seemed to work great though but this is kinda of a big issue.
Releases with just two liveries - not a huge issue because plenty free ones are already available. You would think however, that they could have included more given the development time.
Autopilot issues - LNAV, altitude capture is all messed up. Might be related to Asobo but who knows.
Performance - FPS is about on par with the a320, maybe worse depending on situation. Again, this may be Asobo related, but I find it unlikely.
Switches, parking brake - Some switches turn on but not off or vise versa. Engage parking brake but cannot disengage. No smoking/fasten seat belt lights turn on but not off.
All of this just after TWO flights. This gives me the impression that this aircraft was not tested as thoroughly as it should have been considering the price charged and hype generated. Again, some of these issues may be related to Asobo and completely out of Aerosoft’s control. However, the CRJ should have been delayed until these issues could be resolved. On the plus side, the exterior modeling is top notch as well as the interior. Sounds are pretty good too.
I don’t think you guys have read the manual. Those switches you all claim don’t work? Use the scroller on the mouse for multi-position switches and knobs.
