I’m confused … are you saying that disabling V-sync will Disable the Hangar background ?
Otherwise, what has V-sync got to do with this Topic ??

I think he’s saying the experimental low power mode for the menus only works if you have Vsync enabled … which is true.
So, IOW, Asobo completely misunderstood the request people had for reducing the power required by their UI.
All people wanted was for the Hangar to be removed from the background and replaced by a 2D image when doing anything except for flying or actually being in the Hangar to view their aircraft. This was especially important during software updating, which could take hours, and, the whole time, the stupid Hangar was being rendered in 3D, which was 100% unnecessary, using up gobs of power and running people’s gaming cards at full blast for no reason.
While the hangar in the background could be cool, why do it???
Instead, Asobo gave us this monster that requires VSYNC and wasn’t really what people wanted. I mean, maybe it’s a cool idea for some people, it is not what most people were expecting.
Everybody wants the game to run at peak power during flying, there is no purpose for it to do that when working in the menus or even while loading the game.
Enable Vsync is not necessary to disable the background-rendering.
Mentioned VSync, because @DensestSnail693 mentioned Vsync
These experimental Low-Power-Mode disable the hangar background and if you enable Vsync in-game, it choose additional different vsync “steps”.
If you follow the mentioned link to the existing topic, we already spoke about that the LPM can a bit more as only the removal of the hangar ( what the wish was ).
The thing is they have already implemented one of the screens at least that does not have the 3D rendered hangar, when you are looking at your “My Content” page I believe. Flip to that, and the GPU usage drops through the floor. All they had to do was do that everywhere else except for the Hanger view, the only place it is really required.
I feel this is another one of those issues like trying to get rid of the “Press Any Key” screen on startup. That was met with a lot of resistance for some reason, and after several patches they eventually caved in, and removed it, on the PC version at least.
I think the same thing is going on here, or something like it. I don’t think we could have been any clearer on what we wanted.
yes… we needed two run-ups before it started. I remember the sentence like " then users should not stay long in main menu"
But I assume its all how the requests come to the devs. And some users requested / spoke not only about “avoid simple the 3d hangar rendering so gpu have nothing to do”, instead lots of people spoke about “limit fps”. And I think we also made a little mistake in topics merge. The linked topic heading is like ‘all of it’ : “Lower Resources in the Menu, Downloading, and Minimized. FPS Cap” . My own seperat topic " 100% GPU load : main menu : because background hangar rendering " was merged into these big topic, but it was in special only related to the hangar rendering. As point of the big topic “lowering resources” the merge was semanticly “ok” ( also if not exactly the same ), but the down-side : the devs seen the whole more bigger topic , instead only a part of it.
And may be therefore we got these new LPM with e.g. these vsync-features ( as a try to limit the fps in that way ). It was not realy necessary because users can limit fps by itself. But I would say, if these LPM works and will not be the next 100years in state “experimental”, its ok…
I think this is being treated like “Those users are messing with our creative vision for the sim!”
I think some people at MS/Asobo really didn’t want the “Press any key” attract sequence to be removed, and as the number of votes for its removal crept up, from memory being the highest by far over anything else, they were looking increasingly foolish by not acquiescing to such a simple request.
This feels similar to me. I don’t agree with those that might suggest this particular issue taking time to resolve could be a simple language barrier thing, and the request has been misunderstood.
How else could we “Set Our Experience” without Any Button … I have to imagine that’s much more elegant in French?
Unsure if this is a serious question or not. You mean the first time you ever use the sim, as you have no profile?
If so, my assumption would be it would proceed directly to that screen without you having to “Press any key”, as that step would be eliminated.
I only wondered why these more complex mode was developed and not only ( may be in a first step ) the hanger-rending-disabled … why these " rejection " for some of the whishes are, I dont know… but yes, may be “someone feels disturbed in it vision”
I’m not at all being serious … just poking fun at “Set Your Experience” it’s not exactly silky but it’s original.
