How to Disable On Screen Messages

So I’ve taken a bit of a break from MFS2020 and recently caught up on all of my missed updates. Something different that I’ve noticed from before are the on-screen messages that pop up whenever you hover your mouse over a button or switch. How do you remove that?

Like for example when I’m flying the FBW A32NX, I can’t seem to get the arrow to click between managed and selected mode (up or down click).

go into the options and find “assistance options” and play around with especially the “notifications”. I do like the opaque lables for buttons as each aircraft is separate, but I can’t abide the tips and all… happy landings.

Yeah, I was referring to the blue highlights when you hover the mouse over a knob, button, or control. I think I was able to turn it off.

However, now I have all these info boxes at the bottom of my screen showing airspeed, engines, fuel, AOA, flaps setting, trim, altitude, and VS. also I now have a compass in the top left corner of my screen while in the cockpit. This was never here before.

You turn them off in the accessibility/difficulty menu.

Yes, and I have it set to “Legacy” instead of “Lock.” The boxes weren’t on the bottom of the screen until i switched it to “Legacy.” Basically it took away the blue cockpit interaction and added the boxes at the bottom.

The boxes are a separate setting. You can remove them too.

So is that setting under the accessibility tab or elsewhere, because I’ve tried disabling different settings with no success yet?

Yes. It’s in User Experience in the Assistance set of options.

You find it?

Nope, that removes the little black info boxes that appear when you hover the mouse cursor over knobs and buttons. That’s not what I’m referring to.

I’m referring to small black boxes at the bottom of the screen labeled “AIRSPEED”, “ENGINE #1 AND #2,” “FUEL,” “AOA,” “FLAPS,” “TRIM,” “ALTITUDE,” AND “VS.” I also have a large compass in the top left corner of my screen. None of these were here before. If it helps, I’m in cockpit view.

Still haven’t fixed the issue.

Okay, thanks that did the trick! I had no idea that it would be related to the heads up display.

One more thing. I’m also still seeing the floating blue dots for different airports. How do I disable those?

Yep. The pic he posted is what I was referring to. Glad you got it worked out!

Thanks for yall’s help. Back to where I was originally. May I ask what update that was part of? Seems like an odd feature to implement.

I’m not sure, but the first time I’d ever seen it was in this one. It reset the settings for most of us, so it could have been there for a while without those of us who never used it knowing.

Hmm, interesting. Definitely annoying though, but glad to have it fixed now to the way it was. Kind of a headache…

Instead of doing it one by one. You can just reset the whole asisstance settings to True to Life and make sure everything is set to Hard. That should turn off everything.

There’s also new setting in the assistance at the bottom where you can turn off the flight log menu after shutting down the aircraft. That is actually a nice addition.
