How to start dual engine airplane?

hi. i have honecomb yoke and bravo setup. on alpha it has the ignition key. but in order to start i have to rotate to both . i cannot just start engine one or engine two, or is there a way?

I think you are talking about magneto’s? On a multi-engine aircraft you have one such rotary switch per engine. Each engine has two magnetos for ignition. So usually you fly with “both” selected on both engines. Since you have only one ignition key I don’t know if it uses that to start both engines at the same time (you wouldn’t be able to in real life) or only the left or right engine.

If it’s only handling one engine, you can bind both engines to it in controller settings. This is what I do with a throttle quadrant I have., I bind both throttles/props/mixtures to the single throttle/prop/mixture levers of the quadrant. The Dual turboprop I fly the most is the EMB-110 which does not use the magneto switch of my logitech panel, but as for starting engines I click on the right start switch with the mouse, bring up the right throttle, mixture and prop with the mouse. After right engine start, then I do all the same for the left engine with the logitech panel for start and the quadrant for the left throttle, prop and mixture. During flight the quadrant controls both engines.

It’s not the most realistic, but until I get another quadrant and dual controls for the other things I need (start, generators, fuel pumps, etc.) then I just use the mouse for the initial turn on of everything on the right and the controllers for the left. The mouse will override your controls until you use them (at least on the logitech panels/throttle quadrant) which allows controlling one side with the mouse initially while having the binding for both sides (right/left) to the single controls I have and then controlling the other side with the controllers and once going both sides with the single controls (if that makes any sense).

You would have to set up 2 of the rocker switches on the bravo for ignition 1 and 2. I use the King Air and the ignition switches are just on/off switches.

Of course there is CTRL+E
