How to steer the PMDG 736 during Taxi?

I can’t seem to get the PMDG 737-600 to steer left or right during taxi.

How does one do this ?

Setting it to rudder only, it doesn’t react.

Setting it to rudder+tiller, trying to use the nosewheel with buttons for left and right doesn’t work

running only one engine is not enough to steer

puttin buttons separately fo brake left and right reacts too strongly and aircraft stops

How do y’all do it ?

I have a gamepad, keyboard and a mouse at my disposal.

Hey there, my friend. I did a search in the PMDG 737 Discussion thread and found some information here. Hopefully you can find some help there.

tried all that already , doesn’t work.

Have you tried PMDG’s forums?

1- Reassign it back to rudder only. Make sure you’re using the “rudder axis” binding in your controller settings.

2- Assign the same binding on your controller that you used for “rudder axis” to the following: “Increase Propeller pitch” and “Decrease Propeller pitch”.

Try taxiing again.

All - It astounds me no one on here has attempted to read the introduction. Its 117 pages of very good information, unless as you all appear to be experts on this sim, flying commercial airplanes, and intuitively knowing exactly how things work. OK, page 40, “ground friction model and on” explains how it all should work, provided you set it up correctly. Two choices, I use JS, and let rudder do it for me, since using mouse I would be all over the place.
I have flown in these sims since FS-95, taught to fly by MD-11 Captain for Delta Air Lines, and his words to me then, were, always read the manual, procedures, and study the approach plate so you know exactly what is happening.
When in USN, monthly magazine we all got to read regardless of surface, air, submarine called “lessons learned” about mistakes, or material issues, expanding and causing more problems quicker than can be solved, the stress there, read the manual, and know all the procedures before something bites you to death. Nuff Said.

where is it ?

The PMDG Homepage only has documentation for the DC-6

Assumed you purchased the 737-6-7-800. In the root folder of that plane are two manuals (actually 4), but the “introduction” and “Flight Tutorial” are the biggies. If you did not purchase them, then you will not have them.

yeah I got it from PMDG directly, it was a download of a .exe file which installed the aircraft. Then you had to update it ia their Operation Center program.

I only looked on their website for manuals like they have for the DC-6.
No Operation Manuals in the Operation Center either.

I will check the folder structure of the installed aircraft, thanks for the tipp.

Maybe you got the aircraft from another vendor where you had a manual directly.
i.e. I have bought stuff from simmarket and they often have manuals directly in your account or other developers just put them on their website for easy access.

PMDG propably will do the same eventually, as the DC-6 manuals are there.

I had flown the Zibo Mod in XP last week, so I did not bother to look extensively for Operation manuals as I assumed I know how to operate a 737 NG, it’s the same aircraft.

Just this odd way of operating the steering on the PMDG 737 was puzzling me, never would have found it myself, lol. The PMDG DC-6 steers normally, btw.

cheers and happy flying !

Nope, purchased from PMDG directly from site. Path would be your community folder\Pmdg aircraft 737\documentation\4 files on painting or tutorial or introduction(manual). Great reading. Lots of configuration you can do in plane. Should not use MSFS features for any plane/flight configuration, will seriously screw up the files for the plane.
