I am struggling to get the optimal performance from 2024 and the 787. Recently the old version of the plane has become available in the Marketplace.
It runs a lot faster and the cockpit instruments are not blurry. But there are problems with the AP.
There is an official video saying you can integrate the AP with a Simbrief account:
But the AP looks different yet I have the right model of the plane. Maybe this is due to the Marketplace having 2024 BASE 787 materials and the old or new 787 on top of this.
I have written the different models up as an official bug since there are other problems too.
If anyone can help me here please do so or go to the official bug report to create some traffic and attention to help get this bird flying well again.
In particular this shows up as a problem because in Simbrief I have the speeds an altitudes necessary for VNAV but they are not transmitted in the PLN file which I upload.
If I use the flightplanner page, it does not work on the old model of the 787 either. The page of plans in the EFB from the Cloud does not populate. Must be a 2024 plane feature.
I cannot type the VNAV info directly into the AP. Luckily I can type in the ILS frequency into the radio or that would not work either. So I can do a coupled approach in MS2020, but you have to enter the ILS frequency manually not from the Plan.
Catch-22?.. want a plane that flys fast and clear gauges you can have that but the AP is crippled.
PS Thought I could get it to work with the ILS typed in for the CAT III but I have had two autolands that ended like this… looks like I have to go back to MSFS 2024:
