When I launch MSFS I eventually get a message telling me there is a mandatory update and to go to the store before resuming. OK. So I go to the store. Now what? I cannot find anything regarding an update.
I checked the Downloads and Updates pages. Nothing. Where is this update and how do I get it?
Same here. Yet another mess up!! If they could get one update to work well. That would be great!!

For me the same thing, nothing to see in the store, otherwise it always works!
Several threads on this; go through the Xbox app and it works. Should be an easy search to find details.
Well, I am glad its just not me. I have had this before where I get redirected to the store but have to browse through its pages before I can find a link to the update. I have never, in all the update, been redirected to the store where the actual update is. Always have to search for it. Today. Nothing!!
Once you are in the Downloads and Updates page, hit the “Get Updates” button in the top right hand corner. Sometimes the page needs to refresh before it will show the update. You may need to refresh more than once. When you see the “You’re good to go” message, then you know you’ve gotten all the updates.
That is almost like saying “Go to the store”. What is the xbox app and why would I have it when I dont own an xbox
Yes, this works…load the XBOX app to your PC from the Store…and then launch the sim from the XBOX app and this appears to work for most folks who can’t seem to get the sim to update from the normal launch of the icon/file on the PC. Makes no sense at all, but again the entire update/load process with numerous places to go (the Store first or in this case the XBOX app, then the Sim launcher, then the Content Manager, and then the Marketplace) makes no sense at all and has been around since the start and no sign of this being addressed at all, or any discussion of why it has to be this hard in the first place…there must be a decent reason because it causes so much frustration that it’s clearly known to MS/Asobo that it’s a pain point. Even if we don’t like the answer on how hard it would be to simplify, it would help to at least know the root cause for why it’s so many separate steps for folks to get the update downloaded.
Tried that. It only updated an XBox game bar .
Do you see “MS Flight Sim” in your list of updates? Mine is right below the Xbox game bar update.
No nothing there except the game bar which updated but I didnt really want
Didnt work for me. It launched MSFS which gave me the “Mandatory Update” window and redirected me back to the store. Nothing there
In another thread, its been suggested to log out of the store and relog back in. Also log out and relog back into the Xbox App. See if that works.
I also did a re-boot of my PC after the main sim updated (the one in the Store and then the one when you first launch the sim on the landing page) and the content manager then didn’t show the new WU6 at all…but after that total re-boot the next time I launched the sim it popped up in the content manager and said that WU6 files were there to download.
Infinite loop… Game asks me to update, check the marketplace and it says PLAY, not Update… Windows 11… just in case.
For me it is now. I have installed the X-Box app and called it up, then closed the app and went back to the store, then checked again for updates and suddenly it worked.
Maybe, i was trying something, i removed the content in the community folder, after that it got the update available on the store.
I say this because in the meanwhile, I was playing with xbox app for W10 … one or the other seems to work.
Asobo… please, get togheter
I spammed the Store “Update” button and eventually it showed up. Who knows, maybe Chrome related. Should have tried MS Edge
Same here. Still No Dice for me either.
