I am surprised with Aerosoft

Holy cow am I surprised!
I had never heard about Aerosoft until this sim released, and I only discovered them because someone in the forums talked about the CRJ.
Needless to say I did buy the CRJ, and though a few things are missing (radars or a couple issues with the flight plan) I can say the experience with this plane and the HP Reverb G2 is the best experience I have had in 30 years of gaming.

I also got the Ibiza and A Coruña airports (yep, I am spanish xd), which looked incredible, and today I just bought the Tenerife South airport, which, being from Tenerife myself, I was really looking forward to.

I believe they have really upped their game and invested a lot in this sim, I can’t wait to see new planes from them in the future.
Are there any other companies I should closely follow apart from PMDG, Orbx and Aerosoft?

Both OrbX and Aerosoft have their own products and act as a publishers for other developers. Their first-party products usually have high quality standards though OrbX quality varies. Especially the airports in the USA ported from FSX don’t compare with their later releases.

Both publish products from 3rd-party developers. Some good ones for airports are LVFR, DC Design, FSimStudios, Drzewiecki Design, sim-wings and Gaya Simulations (pricey).

Then again, OrbX has Central - Orbx, a Steam-like desktop app that updates all your purchases and makes it easy to find new ones. For Aerosoft and other 3rd-party devs, there is the https://getcontrail.com app, which allows to update products from those stores. Much easier than having to fiddle with all those installers and zip files from various websites.

“never heard about Aerosoft until this sim released”
It must be your first civil sim then, so welcome !

it depends your need.
for GA aircraft, A2A or Milviz are the best
PDMG of course for liner
ORBX and Aerosoft for scenery
For avionics like GPS, F1, RXP
for weather, Hifi or REX
lots of these compagny didn’t release any product yet. And it can be a good sign, they take their time to make quality addons. or it is a bad sign if they don’t find a way to make or release their product for this sim. My experience makes me say to be patient waiting for good quality addons which deserve their price.

I played Xplane 11 before but only casual, so I only used PMDG planes, did no investigate much more.
I also played FSX like A LOT but I was too young to know how complex planes worked so did not investigate.

Recently, with DCS I got back into flying and MSFS made it for me, this is an addiction.

I mostly fly airliners, so all my hopes are on PMDG, who has confirmed their entire lineup for msfs, I hope they are up to expectations, I am a patient man, I can wait until 2022 or 2023, if the product is excellent I will pay for it.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, I was also impressed by Just FLight’s PA28R, not so much with Carenado planes.

You used PMDG planes in X-plane? Interesting. Which PMDG planes did you have?

Oh I said PMDG lol I just realized, I was talking about Flight Factor

Aerosoft & A2A & PMDG = Take my money! Really want to get there CRJ as I like the short haulers. But I’ve been having too much fun with the H135 lately.

PMDG had indeed one aircraft for x-plane ! some time ago for x-plane 10.

I have not even tried it yet! Is the helicopter any good?? I did not have high hopes since there is no flight model yet

FSLABS for Airbus and PMDG for Boeing. Aerosoft has good airbusses but not as study-level as Fslabs

You right, JF PA28 is pretty good. Carenado make eye-candy aircrafts, realism is not their goal (and why not).

I will take your word on that!
By the way, we Iberia lovers should create a virtual airline hahaha if you ever see IBE345 flying around, that is me

All FsDreamTeam products are top sceneries too.

Well, for airliners… All eyes on PMDG, QualityWings, FSLabs, Leonardo, Majestic. USED to be CaptainSim until they… ahem… eliminated themselves out of a list of serious developers.

It’s amazing! I’m not even a copter guy, and I’m hooked. Lot of fun, and great flight model. at least from my experience doing (crashing) RC copters anyway. Worth a look! Combined with the scenery it’s pretty cool just landing everywhere and on anything. Some nice scenery packs that add rescue missions; fallen climber, car accident, etc. I’m still trying to rescue my landings.

Aerosoft’s from my home town’s airport (EDLP), I’ve known them since about FS 5.0… I think they’re a tad expensive, though. I’m not going to get the CRJ, either (I’m not interestred enough to pay the price).

At least I got my Honeycombs from them much cheaper than what I’d have to pay here in Denmark. The Alpha was in stock when I ordered it, and the Bravo came just as quickly as if I had ordered it from Honeycomb directly. And I was only charged for one delivery.

All in all, a very pleasant experience.

Is there actually anything that’s cheaper in Denmark than in Germany? Except for vacation flat rent, I greatly enjoy that.
