I have done 4 out of 11 helicopter tutorials. A, A, A and B rating. Pretty easy.
Got accurate xbox gamepad sensors.
Now I am at the 5th of 11 helicopter tutorial, called Cyclic.
Helicopter keeps rocking back and forth and I cannot keep it still in one place. And thus keep crashing it for many hours.
What am I missing here?

Yeah… thats horrible, i remember me.
Just do your best and go to the next lesson. You dont need to finish all helicopter lessons to do the final test. Im on the XBox too and i fly with the XBox Elite Wireless 2 controller. I use assisted tail rotor and assisted joystick. the rest for the helicopter is turned off.
you have this „hard time“ only during these lessons, later, during the test and during missions, your assistent settings will work well and assist you flying the helicopter.

I can’t even complete 1st lesson. When it says press controls to start engine the box turns green and message comes up with wait for start up but this never happens .

Oh, that’s strange. My first tutorial was so easy that I completely forgot what it was even about.
About the tutorial, I guess I am making progress, so it’s not entirely impossible.
I’m flying without assistance. But I am making progress. I realised I have to trim the cyclic with RB+RthumbstickDirection, so that it stays more stable when giving no input, and then I have to be very aware of the ground movement and give very fast many many very small inputs constantly untill the inputs keep becoming shorter and shorter and faster and eventually I am able to more consistently balance the craft in a more stationary or stable position.
And trimming cyclic helps allot. I completely forgot about it. Without it, I can’t balance my cyclic to cause the helicopter to align with a stable position. And it’s a bit intuitive now that I feel the helicopter is slightly biased when I achieve more and more often a balanced state. At first the balance is short, then I reach balance for 1 sec in 10 sec. Then it becomes 1 sec in 5 sec. Then 1 sec every two. and then it becomes obvious what kind of cyclic trim I need.
I made the most progress by flying at 70-71 power as close to the ground as possible and then simply getting a feel for the cyclic as I can see every tiny movement the helicopter makes relative to the ground beneath my feet. And I keep steering in the opposite direction I am going, faster and faster, untill I require less and less input.
And then I get a feel for it and it becomes muscle memory to balance it again after that. Best way to learn is right above the ground as the tutorial allows. But I go outside of the parking circle so that I can practice as long as possible, without interuption and without any buildings in my possible path of collision.
Dont get best friends with trimming, because the H125 doesnt have it (nobody knows why… irl, it has)
Can anyone tell me why, when I am trying to perform the helicopter training sessions, I cannot use my joystick ? I have to use the keyboard (WASD) which I find impossible. Joystick and throttle controllers work perfectly in regular flying. Any ideas?
I’m the same way. I have no idea what keys to push and it just sits there until i hit escape and then resume. Basically worthless.
